What should I name a hypothetical pet cat?

I need ideas.

Theoretical ideas.

Hey, does anyone out there play drums, electric guitar (or bass), or anything else? I kinda want to get something musical going on.

Oh, anyone who's on my list to train: I'll be in a sensorium.

Yo, help a homeboy out here. Not that I ain't slick and fine with the ladies, but I got some Q's.

1. What kind of boss threads should a dawg wear to a Broadway play?

2. Does shawty have to know it's a date for shawty to be on a date?

Thanks and props in advance.

So that afro-girl's spending time with her oh-so-precious, DARLING overBOOK, Zetta in the Sensoriums instead of seeing if any "interesting" meatbags come out of the pods.

I could care less of what she does, but she didn't HAVE to drag ME into this stupid mess! I wanted to go people-watch and see what kind of idiots are here now. Instead, I'm treated like some LOW-RANKING demon. This is SO. STUPID.

So. Instead of wasting time doing absolutely nothing, I'm going to use this omnicom channel. Care to entertain me?

[After Chell asked her to help her make Wheatley upgrades, Lash posted this so the others could come join her.]

Hey, you guys know the weird mute girl with the large talking sphere robot? She's in the engineering department looking for help on giving him a proper robot body. Her sketch is pretty terrible, but if someone else feels like helping me out, it be great!

Mostly cause I'd save my materials on more important stuff.

Morgan Knight,

I'd like to speak to you on the topic of martial arts training on the ship. I understand that you're coordinating efforts among the interested crew.

Repair Time

Hey everyone,

I'm glad to hear that most of you are in good health or will be soon. We'll need our strength later, I'm sure.

As Captain Kennedy has already instructed you, please keep sending your damage reports to us. I've reposted the form here, and you can send it electronically to our inbox. Angie and I will be able to read it and slot your item in the repair schedule as soon as possible, with items critical for our operation as designated by Command receiving top priority.

That brings me to my second point: we're exhausted, short-handed, and haven't touched base with each other in a while. It's my fault for not being more proactive, and I apologize for that, but I intend to take steps to correct that now. Please don't rush if you're not yet feeling well, and if you haven't been cleared for release from Med Bay, do not sneak out to attend. If you're able to come, I'm inviting you all down to our Special Weapons laboratory tonight. We'll re-touch on everyone's skills, skim the damage reports, and start clustering into repair units to finish this task.

I'm also inviting anyone who may be interested in joining or training with us to this meeting. People of all skill levels can help us, and if you're not already involved in a project or busy, we'd be glad to have you with us. Don't worry, we'll have a short training unit to bring you up to speed before you join one of our crews.

Hello friends!

I am very pleased that everyone has returned to us, and I sincerely hope that you will be well soon. When you are ready, I hope to offer a joyous occasion to all of you: a promenade, though I am told to refer to such an event as a prom. As I have learned, it is a formal dancing event with elaborate costumes, dying plants attached to strange places, snack items, and a royal court elected by the dancers.

Many weeks ago, I joined a committee to plan this event, but our original organizer has been returned to stasis. I wish to continue her work and provide all of you with a wonderful time! These are the details I have determined so far:

This event will be held in approximately five days, when I hope everyone has recovered. It will take place in the Sensoriums, so you do not need to have your formal attire physically made. You may attend alone, with a partner, or as a group! The theme will be a beautiful underwater world, and there will be opportunities for swimming if you would prefer to dance in the water.

Please comment here if you have questions, would like to assist, or have nominations for our royal court! I have heard that this is one of the most important activities of a prom, so I will take great care.
Nomination rules, no voting in this post! )
Thank you, and I hope to see you all in attendance!

Didn't see any rules about this, so I hope this is okay. Apologies if I annoy!

My name is Morgan Knight, and I was released from the... pods, I guess? Recently. This is my generic 'hello' to everyone. I won't say I'm thrilled to be on board, but, well, here I am and I'm ready to get to work.

So... what is work? I'm looking for whatever needs to be done! I have a pretty diverse shinobi skill set, but my specialties are really hand-to-hand or melee fighting, and healing.

In the meantime, I'd love to get to know more of you personally, so I hope no one minds if while I'm wandering through on my explorations I stop and say hello. (On that note... where are the bathrooms around here?!)

Until further notice do not approach the Tower of High Sorcery.

Something in here did not appreciate my efforts to penetrate its mysteries.

I will alert the ship when I have dealt with it, on the possibly optimistic assumption that it does not kill me.

Please pardon the sudden request, but do any of you know how I may obtain a spare vehicle that is not claimed? A friend of mine is distraught and in need of one. If you will assist me, I will provide you with something in return.

I thank you for your consideration.

I thought this should go without saying but apparently not.

At NO time will ANY live fire exercises EVER be permitted in the hangar by ANYONE, NO EXCEPTIONS UNLESS DIRECTLY AUTHORIZED.

We have Sensoriums for a reason. Use them. Any further incidents will be reported directly to Security. If you have an issue with this, take it up with the Council.

Hi everyone.

For the newcomers and those that haven't met me yet, my name is Billy Cranston. I head the Engineering Department...by myself, for the moment, and I will be your temporary administrator of this omnicom network until a replacement is found.

I've just conducted a search and confirmed that Allen Gentry, my former department co-head and the previous administrator, has been returned to biostasis. His belongings have been left to me for the time being. So in his honor, I'm going to now describe the Engineering department and review the omnicom network rules.

All about the department )

As I said, I'll be your department head for the time being, but I expect we're either going to appoint another co-head or replace me altogether. Captain, Command, I await your decision on the matter.

On that note...engineers, have any of you thought about becoming a department head? It would help smooth the transition to have some willing people available.

Hey, I'm Alex.  If you're reading this I'm going to assume you already know what a video game is. Well, I have been working with someone named Stephen, and together we've made a hand-held console. That's right! We have video games on board! There's a few games on it so far- unfortunately they're mostly ASCII or text-based since I am anything but an artist. Fortunately, I do have some games that have actual graphics. They're somewhat glitchy due to some compatibility issues I'm still working on, but playable for the most part. If you are familiar with Earth from about 2009, then we might have similar worlds with similar games, meaning I might have a game you're familiar with.

If any of you want at least something to do, just leave a message, and I'll work on getting you a system with a few games.

Also to Engeneering and artistic people. )
[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com
Uh, do you think I could get you to make another one of those game systems?
[identity profile] cow-abunga.livejournal.com
Heya. Name's Cowabunga. I've got a prosthetic arm, and since it was covered in that pod goo I'd like to make sure it's all cleaned out, but to do that it means taking the thing off, and work like that is kind of difficult with just the one arm. I usually have a spare to swap it out for, but I haven't been able to find it, so I'm gonna need some help.

A guy named Ed mentioned a Winry who works with this kind of stuff, but if they're too busy anyone with a fairly decent background in engineering should work. Anybody mind helping me out?
[identity profile] redheadcarrier.livejournal.com
Hey, tech-geeks! I need someone to rig up my Eva unit with a portable power source. We've got enough spare ships and parts around to build or install some sort of nuclear reactor on the thing, right?

In the interest of not losing my mind, I have been taking some time off work to think of things to do besides work and I've come up with a few ideas.

ATTN: Science Department

There will be a new system for passing out projects to work on, since they are piling up and the more they pile up, the more I come up with stupid ideas like working on them all by myself.

So from now on, in exchange for free access to the department lab (contagion) as you please, department members will be obligated to work on any projects that come up under their specialties. For example, if you are a physicist and someone approaches the department for help constructing a particle accelerator, you will be assigned to help them out. Feel free to pick up projects not under your specialty as well, as long as you don't blow anything up.

In your free time, hey, do whatever the hell you want. I would like to check over your personal projects using department resources for ethical reasons, but it's not like I'm a major hardass, okay? If this rule bothers you, you may feel free to take it up with me or find another lab to work in.

If you are interested in joining the department but have not yet for whatever reason, come speak to me in the contagion lab. I am usually, literally always there.

Also a reminder I am looking for new senior department heads in addition to Dr. Levy. If you're interested, time to start sucking up.

ATTN: Entire Crew

Three things.

1) The Science Department is now accepting projects from any crew members who would like research, data or results that do not exactly pertain to Medical or Engineering. We have experts in a variety of disciplines and even if your request is especially bizarre, we can look into it for you.

And hey, it's not like you have to pay for it.

The Science Department is located in the Contagion Containment Laboratory (across from Medbay).

2) In the interest of not working myself into an early grave, I will be starting a series of science classes for anybody interested in learning. All ages and experience levels are welcome. The initial focus will be biology, since that is my specialty, but guest lecturers on other disciplines are certainly in the cards as well.

It might be a good opportunity for some of you from older dimensions to learn more about how the ship works.

Let me know if you are interested in attending these lectures and we can talk about times.

3) I am in need of some volunteers to donate blood and tissue samples for research for the project I am currently working on. It would help to get a variety of different types and species for this. I'm not okay with going into Medical and borrowing out of their supplies, so this is the way to do it with informed consent.

I'll work some stickers or candy into the deal if you like.

Hello and welcome to all of our esteemed freshly slimy colleagues here on the lovely ship Stacy. My name is Dr. Luis Sera and I am the head of the Science Department here on the ship. We are stationed in the Contagion Lab across the hall from medical bay, and as usual, if you have an interest or talent in any of the sciences (biology, physics, chemistry, etc) do let me know and we'll see about recruiting you.

We are quite a lax department in terms of individual projects, and you are welcome to undertake them in our laboratories so long as you follow a few simple rules.

1. Be ethical (when in doubt, I will let you know if you are creeping me out, at least)
2. Be responsible (there are a lot of us in here, clean up your own deadly chemicals and answer for your nine-foot man-eating plants)
3. Don't blow anything up (I am very serious about this)

Let me know if there are any questions. I am actually on the lookout for several senior department staff members, so be sure to mention if you are interested in a promotion, particularly if I don't have to worry about you and rules 1, 2, and 3. I can almost always be found in the contagion lab.

- Dr. L. Sera
