Greeting//change of command
Hi everyone.
For the newcomers and those that haven't met me yet, my name is Billy Cranston. I head the Engineering Department...by myself, for the moment, and I will be your temporary administrator of this omnicom network until a replacement is found.
I've just conducted a search and confirmed that Allen Gentry, my former department co-head and the previous administrator, has been returned to biostasis. His belongings have been left to me for the time being. So in his honor, I'm going to now describe the Engineering department and review the omnicom network rules.
As mechanics, physical scientists, computer experts, and inventors, the members of the Engineering department are responsible for developing needed mechanical devices and ensuring that they run smoothly. We welcome people with any number of those skills, and for those who are willing to learn there is also a training program. If you have any interest in joining us, please let me know. I'll either arrange to meet you or send a senior member.
As I said, I'll be your department head for the time being, but I expect we're either going to appoint another co-head or replace me altogether. Captain, Command, I await your decision on the matter.
On that note...engineers, have any of you thought about becoming a department head? It would help smooth the transition to have some willing people available.
---
Omnicom Network Rules:
There are only two: do not attempt to hack private messages that are closed to you and do not steal another person's omnicom. All of your devices have the capability to store private data and send private messages, and that privacy will be respected. If you're unsure how to filter a message to a specific person or group of people, I've created a tutorial for you here:
((filtertutorial.doc))
The basic rule of this network is a respect for privacy. If you can't do that, then don't expect to maintain access to the network for long.

Oh, and my name is Phillip.

We'll have plenty of blueprints for projects down here, and if you wish to invent items of your own we have tools for that as well.
Let me know if you'd ever like a tour.

I believe one of Allen's last requests was that we bar you from joining. We're short-staffed, but I'm beginning to see his reasoning.

Jamie, I'm sorry I haven't been by to check on you all. I've been worried, but the short-staffed situation kept me here. It's even worse now.
I'll be by soon, all right?

---sorry! Don't know how I missed this one.
We have several crew members in both departments, and they're the crew that focuses mainly on chemistry.
We do need those skills in Engineering though, so you're welcome to join us too.

But enough about me---I need to see you too, right? That virus was awful. I wanted to visit all of you, but with half the remaining department members disappearing the work was left to me.

I'll put myself out there for the co-head position.
I...think we've met before. It's hard to tell sometimes, with so many people around here. I'm Angie Spica. Basically, the silver gal who probably seems to spend way too much time in Engineering as it is.

I'd like to discuss things with everyone to see where we're heading. I'll be out soon if you'd like to conduct an interview.

I just don't know if I'll be allowed to. If she can crack the code to save the universe and we refuse her...

We definitely need more hands working with our robotics, so you can come down at any time! Do you know where to find us?

Regardless; now that things have settled down somewhat, what have I missed on the Engineering end? Any open projects?

You haven't missed anything particularly important. The Science department was responsible for curing the outbreak. We haven't had much in the way of activity since Shiva's attack.
