Not a lot of time to talk, so listen up:

Everyone, make your may to the nearest secure location. [Assume there's a list with whatever safe zones were created.] If you're injured or in trouble, let us know where you are.

All Comm and Staff and DH's if you're in a critical area of the ship, hold your position if you can. If not, lock down what you can and head to a more secure area.

Security, start putting together search and rescue teams. Right now, your top priority is getting people to safety, we can start taking back critical areas of the ship after that.

Engineering, I need someone to track down where the core of this god damn AI is, and I'll deal with it myself.

[Private to Claire and Sherry]

Claire, Sherry, where are you two? Are you both all right?

Sometimes, the things I read about biology gross me out.

But even then, they're really interesting. Like serum. Serum is a substance that regularly fills small blisters. It's a clear fluid which comes from damaged blood cells. It isn't red because it's a part of blood, but is devoid of clotting factors or blood cells. It's also sterile, provided you don't pop your blisters (which is gross, so don't do it).

Also, I want to see isolated L-theanine.

Hello, Mr. Sera. It's nice to meet you.

I'm Cassie, a new addition to the ship, and I'm contacting you because a friend of mine suggested that you might need help with the animals in Hydroponics. I would like to help if that's possible. Although I've never handled animals quite like the ones in Hydroponics, I've spent most of my life surrounded by and taking care of animals from my own world with my parents, who were both veterinarians, and I would love to be able to learn more about these incredible animals and help take care of them. If I could ask for a moment of your time, I'd really like to talk to you about this.

Thank you, Mr. Sera. I hope to hear from you soon.

I notice that everyone's gone back to normal rather quickly. Well, almost everyone. I hear people are making plans for parties already.

That's nice. For all of you, anyway.

Some of us won't be able to pretend everything's okay. And I'm not talking about people whose timelines look like they're permanently fucked up. I'm actually talking about a certain group of individuals that were unaffected, and were sent on what was supposed to be a mission to help another culture, and turned into something very different. I hope everyone was pleased with the result of that mission, because there are going to be some results of it that will never fade. They will be permanent. I've sunk to some very deep lows in my life, but this takes the fucking cake.

An eleven-year-old was forced to kill someone on that mission.

Eleven years old.

Are we all sure we want a computer making our personnel decisions for us? Because I want to make one thing crystal clear.

Fletcher goes on no missions. Period. I don't care if it's the computer, the Captain, or anyone else that thinks they have that right.

Fletcher goes nowhere, especially not without me.

If you'll excuse me, I have to figure out how he's going to deal with this now.

I hope you're all fucking happy.

I'm so glad that we've got a crew that's so capable that when a problem comes along, their first reaction is to chuck someone in a bubble and ask a million questions. This is really impressive, you know? I just can't believe the high level of efficiency present here. They've almost got my kid brother's work ethic beat.

Goddammit let me the hell out of here already, I have work I should be doing. Something that'll actually get results.

Hello. I understand that several crew members, the missing Marco and Rachel included, possess the ability to 'acquire' and take the form of animals and other members of the crew.

What I do not understand is why the Council, upon obtaining this information, chose not to inform Security.

[ooc: As a JSYK for any latecomers, Zouichi stuffed the Omnicomm back into his pocket after agreeing to talk to Ax and Eva... and then promptly got roped into the Trojan Horse plot, so that's where he's gonna be till that plot ends. I'm assuming atm it's going to run over the public Council meeting, so he probably won't be back in time for that.]

Bienvenidos to all of our poppin' fresh crew members! My name is Dr. Luis Sera and I am the Chief Science Officer here on the ship, as well as the head of the Science Department. This is the time when every department head parades themselves in front of the new people, and I do not want to be the exception.

The Science Department is the ship's research and development team, and we are always available for commission for individual projects as needed-- we take care of everything that does not fall under Medical or Engineering. We are located in the Contagion Containment Laboratory nearby the Medical Bay, and we are always looking for new projects and for new members. If you have a background in any scientific discipline, feel free to get in touch with me to schedule an interview.

I hope you all have a lovely, mostly stress-free stay aboard the ship. Please ask if you have any questions for me, about the department or otherwise. I am always happy to help.

Hello to the residents and crew of Transmigration 9!

I am probably already known to some of you, but I believe it's time for a formal introduction. I am Dr. Samuel Henderson, Head of the Medical division. While I may appear at a glance to be far too young for the role, I would like to assure you all that appearances are deceiving.

My purpose today is to remind and inform you all that we are currently conducting mandatory physicals for all crew members. This is so that we may have a database of information from which to pull should it ever become necessary. What we'll be doing is a routine physical exam, bloodwork, have a conversation about your personal medical history, and, if applicable, about anything distinctive of your species that most people don't know about.

I want to assure you all that while I know a lot of people dislike being examined unnecessarily, this information is vitally important in a crisis, so that we do not do something that will harm your further. I assure you that we'll do our best to make sure the process is as quick and painless as possible.

I would also like to take this time to get our personnel a bit more organized, as obviously, conducting all of these physicals will not be a one-man job. If anyone with medical or healing skills of any kind could please either respond to this message or stop by the med bay at your earliest convenience, I would like to know what sort of specialties we have present. Of particular interest are those with ER and triage experience, since this is a war, after all. But don't let that keep you from stepping forward. Anyone with any kind of skill that may be useful in Medbay is encouraged to come forward.

Thank you very much for your time! And remember, there's always someone in Medbay if you ever have any concerns or if there is ever an accident.

--Dr. Samuel Henderson

((OOC: These physicals are being considered to be conducted in the background, so no need to thread them! But this is shipwide policy.))

Captain, Chief - or Aran, I'm not sure which one of you is in charge anymore - I've decided it's more prudent if I remain on the ship to protect our flank. I'll be keeping Ensign Washburn with me as he's a married man already.

With all due respect sir, I am not getting married.

((OOC: If you're a department head or a Council member, you can see this post.))

General Chacon, your holographic recorder and image projector is ready. I even managed to get measurements to scale it up to Kang's hand.

I'll give you the run down of how to use it when we meet.

I'm curious, guys. Anybody have a count on how many friendly AIs we have working on our side?

Welcome to the ship, to all of the new people I have been accidentally ignoring since the last release from the pod caverns. I discovered a new species of slug in the water at hydroponics and I've spent the last few weeks cultivating and breeding my own tank of them because I believe I'm starting to lose my mind.

In any case, my name is Dr. Luis Sera and I'm the Chief Science Officer and head of the Science Department on this lovely vessel. The Science Department is responsible for scientific research and development in all areas of practice-- physics, chemistry, biology, and anything else that doesn't fall under Engineering or Medical. We are called upon to assist other departments of the ship and crew members in commissioned scientific work. If you are experienced in any discipline of science and this sounds like a good time to you, you are welcome to inquire about joining the department.

Joining the department gives you free access to the Contagion Laboratory across the hall from Medbay, given that you agree with two simple stipulations:

1. All projects using department facilities and resources must receive ethical approval by the Chief Science Officer (myself.)
2. You will not work on anything that has more than a reasonable chance it is going to explode, infect, mutate, or otherwise horribly kill us all.

There is also absolutely no biological weaponry research allowed in department facilities. It gives me a headache and I have had way too many headaches for one lifetime.

Other than that, you're free to pursue your own avenues of work. Good deal, right?

This announcement is also to let you know that we are always accepting new projects. So if you are a crew member and you are in need of some type of specific research, please let me know and I will see the project handed off to a capable member of our staff. We are here to help you in any way we can.

In any case, if you are interested in joining or commissioning the department, please contact me here and let me know.

I need all available Command Staff and Council members to report to the Obs deck. We'll be receiving guests.

Dr. Sera,

Today I learned about Cymothoa Exigua.

I think I'm not going to study things for a while.

Okay, since the last time I tried visiting Science resulted in me nearly getting run over by a giant monster, I figured I should set up some kind of meeting time so that something similar is less likely to happen when I show up.

So anyways, if you wanna basic resume or whatever? Hi. Peter Parker. I've got a good deal of knowledge in a few ares of science, but I'm best with chemistry. I developed a shear-thinning adhesive in my basement that mimics the properties spider-silk.

We have developed a method of subduing the Tyrant.

Everyone, PLEASE stay in a safe place and do not confront the creature while we attempt to get the situation under control. If anyone has been injured, stay where you are-- please use this post to inform us of your condition so the med bay can be prepared.

Hang in there. This is almost over.

[Screened to Leon, Claire, Miku, Pepper, and other folks "in the know"]

The suppressant weapon is finished. As soon as I find someone to deliver it, it'll be in your hands.

This is Dr. Sera, and I'm afraid we have a bit of a situation on our hands.

About fifteen minutes ago, one of the crew members... well, for lack of a better word, he mutated into a creature known as a Tyrant, and he is currently on the loose through the ship.

I know some of you are very powerful and the temptation to save the day is there, but please listen to me. It is VITALLY important that you all DO NOT APPROACH HIM. He cannot control himself and has the potential to cause some serious damage. The Science department is working on a method of bringing the situation under control, but in the meantime, DO NOT TRY TO BE A HERO. DO NOT ENGAGE HIM IN A FIGHT. STAY OUT OF THE WAY.

I will answer as many questions as I can as quickly as I can.

- Dr. L. Sera

It's Steve. He got away before we could stop him.

But there might be another way.

It's come to my attention that we now have these mandatory screenings? The health ones I understand, because hey, let's catch those alien parasites before they explode out of people, right? Very sound plan.

The psychological one, though, I'm not sure who I have to talk to about it, so I'm just talking about it here, since I figure they'll see it.

I'm claiming cultural...uh, exemption.

Talking about...things, and feelings, is not really a Viking thing to do. So I'm not doing it. Annnd you can't make me.

Good morning, afternoon, evening, etc., crew. This is Councilor Kal-El.

We've had our first meeting recently and, despite some setbacks, we're ready to make a few announcements.

First of all, I would like to announce that Councilor Matthew Olsen will be the Chairperson for this gathering. I am more than certain that he's up to the challenge.

Second of all, we would like to announce that, as of now, both physical and psychological evaluations are now mandatory for all crew members present and future. However, we do want to reassure you that these will be purely confidential and only be known to the doctors doing the work.

And lastly, in light of recent events, we have decided to pardon the Yeerk known as Schmuz. We feel that his help during the incident with Shiva outweights the reasoning for his continuing imprisonment. As well, we are seeking ways of giving him and others the means to be mobile without the need of an actual host.

Thank you, all.

We've developed a cure for the ROM-199A contagion, it's been tested, and is safe. However, with the numbers of infected in the city, as well as security being tied up with containing the infection, we need volunteers to go into the city to administer the antidote.

We've modified a number of tranquilizer guns to carry the cure, to avoid close proximity with unrestrained infected, however this absolutely requires someone who can handle a gun, and is a sure enough shot to not inadvertently kill someone with the medical dart.

Anyone interested in offering assistance, please respond, ASAP.
