Beast Boy, Samus, Kang, would either of you lovely males and fine lady wish to accompany me to this undersea prom? I've never been to one before.

Then again, I'm not sure if any of you have been to one either. And don't, worry there's enough of me to share with everyone. Unless, of course, you're not interested. A pity, really.

So what exactly have I missed?

A security meeting will be held in the Precinct tomorrow. It will be divided into two parts-the first being mostly an informational session of the duties of security. This is free to attend to anyone who might wish to join security. I highly suggest that any new or old crew member that is interested in security attend.

The second is a mandatory meeting for all current security members. I need to touch base with all of you.

I am also going to be introducing a firearms training program as run by security. It's primary focus will be on safety and handling of firearms. As the course goes on, it will provide you with opportunities to advance your skills to be used in combat. If you are interested in joining security but lack prior experience I suggest that you attend these as well. More details will follow.

I need you to come to my office.

We've developed a cure for the ROM-199A contagion, it's been tested, and is safe. However, with the numbers of infected in the city, as well as security being tied up with containing the infection, we need volunteers to go into the city to administer the antidote.

We've modified a number of tranquilizer guns to carry the cure, to avoid close proximity with unrestrained infected, however this absolutely requires someone who can handle a gun, and is a sure enough shot to not inadvertently kill someone with the medical dart.

Anyone interested in offering assistance, please respond, ASAP.

This is a bit hard for me to say. Mainly, 'cause I'm pretty sure half you people will think it's ridiculous, but I've been found out, and I don't really think there's going back now after breaking the rules so badly.

A little while ago, after I...woke up, so to speak, I introduced myself on this here network by the name of Bob McPlayskool. That was on a stolen comm-thingy--and I confess now that I did steal it, rather than find it. (It's been left for its owner in the hallway outside Obs Deck, by the way. My apologies, Mr. Helstrom). I always intended to give it back, but I couldn't reach the new ones without getting seen.

The truth is, Bob McPlayskool isn't my name. I made that up, which was pretty obvious to some of you.

See the thing is, I'm not human. Or an alien. Or a robot. Or anything it makes any sense that it can think and talk. I'm hoping by now everyone's just used to weirdness on the ship, but even if you are, this might still be a little strange for some of you, which is why I didn't just introduce myself before.

The fact of the matter is I'm a toy.

As in, yes, a child's plaything. A cowboy doll, to be specific. I am, in fact, the toy that Komali's been playing with for a while. I think like you big people do, I can move, I can talk--it's just usually I only do those things when people aren't looking. It's something of a rule with my kind, mainly 'cause of the possible consequences of big people finding out we're alive.

Except I got caught. I'm not exactly used to being on the lookout for cameras and motion sensors.

I suppose the rest is up to you folks. I honestly don't know what's next. Not a one of my kind has talked to people before like this and just acted like a person. I really don't know what I'm even doing here, other than breaking pretty much the most important rules toys even have, but I don't think I can get away with hiding anymore. People on the ship are too sharp. And I'm tired of being on the edges, not knowing what's going on.

So, now all I really can do now is just introduce myself right and proper.

Howdy, folks. My name is Woody.

A Lost Toy?

Excuse me, everyone?

I know this sounds trivial, but I've found a cowboy toy out in the hallways. It's... weird, but I could have sworn it moved from its spot like three times...

...a-anyway, I'm looking for it's owner, a... "Andy"? If this is yours, I still have it and I'm willing to give it back. I'll be at the Media Library if you wish to pick it up.

Thank you!

I was wondering if I could have some mock guns made up for training purposes. I've found one that might work, but it needs to be modified slightly and then replicated so I have a few spares. Non-lethal and ideally equipped with some sort of laser pointer as an aiming aid. It temporarily "freezes" the target when hit.

There's also a device that I found with it that negates the freezing effect immediately, but I'd like another constructed, as I don't know how reliable this one is.

I've attached the specs of the gun. If you think you could help with this, contact me.

ATTN: CREW

My name is Samus Aran. I have recently taken command of the Security Department upon Captain Kennedy's promotion. Currently the security department deals with threats to crew on-ship and planet-side. Maintaining a sense of safety and security are our chief concerns.

We have faced our share of threats already, but it would be overly optimistic to expect that trend to stop. New crew members, if you are interested in joining us, there will be a meeting in the precinct. The exact time and location in the city will be attached. Current members of security, I ask that you all attend as well.

Any questions, I'll have my comm on me or be in my office.

I've written down some basic information about life on the ship in one place so it's easy to find. It includes:

-A summary of what we know about the ship/what we think we know about the ship.
-Some helpful information about day to day life here/the government and laws.
-Information about important places on the ship.

For those of you who just woke up, welcome. For the old hands, if anyone has questions you can point them to it.

Quick, if you don’t respond to this message, the whole ship will explode!

Okay, just kidding, but this is still important. I’m looking to put together some information on the crew, and I can’t do it without you pitching in.

Your answers are critical! Yes, even the last one.

This is a reminder that the ship's educational system is still in need of more teachers, and I see that some of our new recruits have been volunteering. We already have a couple of people taking different subjects, but here are a few of the subjects we could stand to have people teaching:

All forms of mathematics
All teachable forms of magic
Astronomy
Social Science
History*
Various types of art
Music**
Physical combat***
Piloting and/or driving
And, basically, everything and anything you think would be useful on this mission, at all levels. Basic, advanced, supernaturally advanced, whatever the level, we need people to teach it.

* This one's tricky because of all the alternate histories and worlds. Let's talk about how it could be done.

**Currently Pirogoeth and I offer lessons in theory and performance, but work in Engineering keeps me very busy and I would prefer to hand this class over to someone with more time and passion for the subject. Composition teachers are welcome, too.

***Because martial arts are Srs Bsns, rather than put every instructor's complex and lengthy schedule down (we have one guy wanting to start at 400 hours, seriously), I am adding a list of martial arts and combat teachers to the bottom of this informational post. We still need combat teachers for use of melee weapons and firearms, anyone else interested in teaching their school of fighting and philosophy, and hand-to-hand instructors for individuals to whom human methods of combat would be inefficient or irrelevant.

I have on record diagnostic exams of all the people currently enrolled in classes, and I still have them available for anyone who wants to enroll (especially minors who were taken in the middle of their educational careers). These diagnostic exams pinpoint the areas in which the student needs more work or extra assistance and ensures that nobody has to waste time sitting through a lecture they've already heard, so don't skip this step. You can get one from me in the Engineering department between the hours of 0900 and 0500, and pretty much any time after if you run into me in the halls.

Current timetable of classes )

Current list of instructors, contactable for personal lessons (marked with an asterisk*) or needing to give me their teaching hours: )

EDIT: Combat Instructors and Schools of Combat )

Current instructors: I still need timeslots for some of you, for the purposes of record-keeping and more effectively getting this information to the crew. Please indicate here if you are available for private lessons as well.

Anyone interested in enrolling or teaching, comment here or contact me in person. I am in the Engineering department every day, 0900 to 0500.

Indigo will be opening the spacewalk soon. Samus, Carol, I want you two on hand for that, but you're free to add others if you think you need them. There will also be members of the Science Team on hand to assist.

The Spacewalk is still damaged, however, and conditions in Hydroponics are still unknown, so there is still a significant risk of a hull breach. Make sure you're equipped for that, and so is anyone else going along. Anyone unprepared for that doesn't enter the Spacewalk. Period.

You need to help the Science Team recover the bodies in the spacewalk, as well as clear and secure Hydroponics. We know something is living in Hydroponics, but not what. Find out what you can before entering, contain whatever is in there and escort it down to quarantine if possible, but terminate it if you need to.

Any questions?

[Screen to Security]

So. We've all been through hell. Anyone who needs some time to recover from that, speak up and it'll be granted. Otherwise, I expect you to show up and do your job.

[To Everyone]

Just to publically clarify this department's stance on all the recent arguing:

Don't expect us to try and stop you from arguing further. We aren't going to start confiscating equipment or shoving people into the brig for speaking their minds, no matter how annoying, inappropriate, or ill-timed it is. Members of my staff are free to voice their own opinions on the matter as they see fit, but any member of my staff who attempts to use their position to shut anyone down will be relieved of duty. "Free Speech" is not within the scope of our authority to regulate.

That being said, posting to the omnicomms is a public record of your own words, and we will be keeping an eye on things. If this escalates from arguing to harassment, threats, and acts of violence, then you have crossed a line from "free speech" into something dangerous and harmful. Any offenders will be swiftly and appropriately dealt with.

Until then, continue to shout at each other all you want without fear of reprisal.

I think we should explore a little more, what do you guys think? I know it's probably not necessarily allowed, but it would be fun. It's not like we're going to go jump off buildings or anything.

Roxie, Dani, are you free? Do you want to come?
