It appears General Antilles has been re-podded.

As the most senior officer in Starfighter Command, I will be assuming command effective immediately. I will shortly be promoting one of the Rogues to Commander in my place.

Interested volunteers who approached me before but haven't been placed in a squadron because they couldn't be confirmed by higher command, I have the authority to do that now.

[Private to Kang]

Please tell me you're in the tavern today, I need a drink right now.

[Private to Captain Kennedy]

Captain, I'd like to speak to you about our combat readiness, among other things. What's a good time for you?

This is a bit hard for me to say. Mainly, 'cause I'm pretty sure half you people will think it's ridiculous, but I've been found out, and I don't really think there's going back now after breaking the rules so badly.

A little while ago, after I...woke up, so to speak, I introduced myself on this here network by the name of Bob McPlayskool. That was on a stolen comm-thingy--and I confess now that I did steal it, rather than find it. (It's been left for its owner in the hallway outside Obs Deck, by the way. My apologies, Mr. Helstrom). I always intended to give it back, but I couldn't reach the new ones without getting seen.

The truth is, Bob McPlayskool isn't my name. I made that up, which was pretty obvious to some of you.

See the thing is, I'm not human. Or an alien. Or a robot. Or anything it makes any sense that it can think and talk. I'm hoping by now everyone's just used to weirdness on the ship, but even if you are, this might still be a little strange for some of you, which is why I didn't just introduce myself before.

The fact of the matter is I'm a toy.

As in, yes, a child's plaything. A cowboy doll, to be specific. I am, in fact, the toy that Komali's been playing with for a while. I think like you big people do, I can move, I can talk--it's just usually I only do those things when people aren't looking. It's something of a rule with my kind, mainly 'cause of the possible consequences of big people finding out we're alive.

Except I got caught. I'm not exactly used to being on the lookout for cameras and motion sensors.

I suppose the rest is up to you folks. I honestly don't know what's next. Not a one of my kind has talked to people before like this and just acted like a person. I really don't know what I'm even doing here, other than breaking pretty much the most important rules toys even have, but I don't think I can get away with hiding anymore. People on the ship are too sharp. And I'm tired of being on the edges, not knowing what's going on.

So, now all I really can do now is just introduce myself right and proper.

Howdy, folks. My name is Woody.

We have a full squadron of mobile suits on board now. ZAKUs and Windams.

What should we do with them?

Everyone stand down, the situation is contained.

I need medical teams to the Podcaverns now.

The bombs, eight in total have been located. Six we can pinpoint, and two more I know the general location of, but interference with the ship's sensors preventing me from getting an exact location.

I'll need people who can disarm these things in a hurry. Keep in mind that these aren't just normal explosives. According to initial scans, one is magically enhanced, another is nearly microscopic, a third is covered by material that can break down organic matter, and a few others are defended by automated weapons. If you can help with this, speak up.

Everyone else, start evacuating to the Obs deck or crew quarters. You'll be safest there.

...why are there extra mobile suits in the hangar?

There's almost a full squadron of ZAKUs and a few Windams, but I don't think anyone else showed up from our world, did they?

Hello. I have a project for anyone that is capable.

While searching through some of my possessions, I found a package of rain locust eggs. Rain locusts were a type of large insect native to Walrum. Their adult form is mostly fat and complex sugars stored in the abdomen; they have no digestive systems, so they die several hours after emerging. The adults can be harvested and used for many different foods, but their eggs only hatch during a certain lunar cycle in wet loam, and their larvae are notorious for eating plant roots, especially ones that grow in moist soil (or following a heavy rain). The eggs, however, can be stored almost indefinitely until conditions are right, and only a small starting colony is required to establish the species in an area.

I would like to put these eggs to good use. If someone could figure out how to simulate the conditions required for the rain locusts to continue their cycle in a controlled manner, I would be very grateful.

Many thanks,

Aeneas

I'm probably supposed to give some huge speech right now, but all I can think of to say is... Thank you. Not just to the people who voted for me (though I'm honored by your faith in me), but to everyone who voted, ran, and campaigned. It took a lot of hard work for this crew to get to this point, and we're still just getting started.

I'd also like to congratulate the new members of the Council, as well as my First Officer, Nathan Petrelli. He's one of a handful of people who has been part of the crew for longer than I have, and he's done nothing but work on your behalf the entire time I've known him. He'll do one hell of a job.

I really haven't bothered to do any campaigning, for a number of reasons. And even this isn't some kind of campaign speech, but on the eve of elections, I felt the need to talk to everyone for a few moments.

Forgive me if this rambles a bit, I'm not entirely sure what I want to say right now.

What do you all want in a leader? What are you looking for in them? What kind of person do you want them to be? When you go vote tomorrow, are you voting for the kind of leader that you do want? Or are you just voting for someone you can live with?

I guess I'm wondering because, on my world, politics tended to boil down to people voting for the least worst option on the table. I'm curious to see if that's what will happen here. I sincerely hope not.

Best of luck to all the candidates tomorrow.

Greetings, my fellow podmates. My name is Euphemia li Britannia, and I'm yet another candidate running for a Council position. I know that I haven't gotten to know very many of you since I woke up, and for that I'm very sorry; I don't really have any excuse other than that I haven't been feeling my best. I understand that that may make a lot of you apprehensive about voting for me, so I've decided to outline my position here.

Back home, I was the third princess of the Holy Britannian Empire, and sub-viceroy in charge of Area 11, formerly known as Japan. The most significant of my contributions to Area 11's welfare was the establishment of the Special Administrative Zone of Nippon, an area where the Japanese people could reclaim their nationality and heritage. Britannia subjugated Japan and many other areas, but I don't believe that was the right thing to do. I believe that all people are equal, despite such things as race, gender, place of birth, religion, or any other such thing.

If elected to Council, I will make it a priority to listen to anyone who has a complaint about how things are run, and to keep from enacting any policies that are detrimental to any segment of the crew, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. I'll always be available for any crew member to speak to about any subject. In short, I'll do my best to make it so everyone feels they have a place.

If anyone has any questions, please don't be afraid to ask them here. I'll answer whatever is asked of me.

This crew needs to know what to expect out of a military leader. This ship needs someone who is willing to take responsibility for this crew, and our mission. We need someone who can take control of the situation, and actually lead us instead of just taking orders from the Daligig. We're not going to win this war by doing that. The fact they had to conscript us to fight for them should be evidence enough that they lack the ability, or knowledge to wage a successful campaign. They have us fighting a defensive war, and reacting to the Ohm. We don't have the resources, or personnel for that.

This war calls for a leader familiar with fighting, and beating an enemy superior in both numbers, and resources. I ask that when you vote that you please consider these things.

I am also declaring my candidacy for the position of Captain.

Back when the first few crew members woke up, they were trapped in a rather limited are of the ship. They quickly realized that if they wanted to get out of there, they were going to need to work together, and someone was going to have to take charge. At that point, the first elections were held, and Cybil Bennett was elected the first Captain of the ship.

Slowly, the crew expanded, and as they grew and opened up more areas of the ship, a more sophisticated Command structure began to emerge. Eventually, Captain Bennett stepped down, and a new Captain was voted into place. An individual who, thanks to the manipulations of this ship, some of us can only vaguely remember him as 'That Guy Who Punched A Raptor.' But the legacy he and his successor left behind, namely leading us to get rid of the space pirates that controlled this ship, and leading the crew through the Nightmare King, helped us get to where we are today.

Beyond that, once we all realized that we wouldn't be returning to our homes any tine soon, they helped lay the foundation for what eventually became the ships constitution. And as per that constitution, its now time for new leaders need to be elected.

To the crew, you all get to decide which direction the ship goes next. This is a tremendous responsibility, one that I hope you all take seriously. The nominees will make themselves known to you over the next few days. Be sure to take a close look at them, as all of our lives will be in their hands. Know who and what you're voting for, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask someone.

To the nominees, best of luck to you all. I look forward to spirited campaigning, but try to keep it clean.

In two weeks time, we all vote. May the best people win, because that's who we need.

May I please have your attention my fellow crewmates!

If you do not already know me, I am Nanashi. I was once the Queen of a great state called Kuninoryu. For most of my life, my country has been relentlessly attacked by an opponent far stronger than us called the Angels.

I believe my years of experience in protecting my homeland from a seemingly unbeatable enemy can help us here.

There is no use denying that the last Ohm attack was disheartening. Even if some might say that the Ohm retreated, I know that most of you have felt what I have felt- that the Ohm decided to leave. While I will not say that that is unfortunate- it means that we were able to leave Zokez II with no fatalities- what I will say is what I am sure has been on all of your minds, that we must do better on the next attack. We must send a signal to the Ohm! Let them know that we will stop them!

We are all fighting for our homes, for our loved ones! There is a fury that all intelligent beings- human or otherwise- posses when they are fighting for what they care about!

But that alone is not enough. We need a strong leadership, we need someone with plenty of strategical background, someone who knows how to manage a people during a time of war.

And I assure you that I am that person. You will find no one on this ship with more experience than I, with more passion than I.

Knowing this, I truly hope that you will lend me your vote- lend me your hand- in this battle against the Ohm!

Please, if you have any questions, I will gladly address them here.

I suppose I should mention what little I could read of the Ohm, although it isn't much.

Their minds were very alien; I couldn't understand any of their thoughts. All I could sense was immense anger. It seemed disconnected, somehow, too... as if their minds were not their own.

None of this seems particularly useful, but I thought I'd share what I learned regardless.

To all crew:

Due to GLaDOS "disappearing" a good portion of the Command Staff, I've assumed the role of Acting Captain aboard this ship. Under the current ship constitution, I have both the authority and responsibility to do this, and will retain command until either GLaDOS releases one of the Commanding Officers, or a new Captain is elected.

That said, there's some business we need to handle

Hey everyone,

I'm glad that most of you are all right, though I acknowledge that the definition of "all right" varies. Even the worst cases here in the Med Bay seem to be recovering. My commendations to the staff, and I hope you all get some well deserved rest. How unfortunate that we need it right after a vacation.

Based on what I observed in the last battle, I'd like to begin work on some new projects. Input and ideas are welcome, of course, and our commanders have the final say as always.
Right back to the grind... )
If I'm needed for any reason, I've just been cleared to return to my post. You'll find me in Special Weapons attempting to organize the new inventory and drafting up anti-Ohm projects. If anyone else purchased new tools for us during shore leave, feel free to drop them off at any time.

((OOC: Pausing my replies about Lex's proposal right now. This is going to require mod work and OOC coordination, especially because I foresee a big brawl over it. I'll wait until more of you come online to discuss it. Hope that's okay, Will.))

Ohm attacking the planet.

Send situation updates whenever possible. What are you fighting and where. Send word if you need aid/evacuation.

Let's get a coherent idea of what we're facing.

Edit: Still no strategy.
