Regrouping [OPEN---attention hackig and defense grid teams]

Hey everyone,

I'm glad that most of you are all right, though I acknowledge that the definition of "all right" varies. Even the worst cases here in the Med Bay seem to be recovering. My commendations to the staff, and I hope you all get some well deserved rest. How unfortunate that we need it right after a vacation.

Based on what I observed in the last battle, I'd like to begin work on some new projects. Input and ideas are welcome, of course, and our commanders have the final say as always.

I believe we could benefit from weapons with the ability to take out masses of Ohm. They would be tightly controlled, of course, but we were all overwhelmed in the fight. Some of you have sufficient weaponry and strong enough powers to attack masses at a time, but the majority of us do not. In that swarm situation, we needed to group up to avoid being sliced and diced by the Ohm. If we could just create larger openings in the swarms to mount attacks, that would help.

Did any of you collect further data about them during the fight? I believe the information encountered by the hacking team would be especially helpful in our quest to disrupt their activities. If you can, could you share what you learned?

I'd also like to ask the defense grid team about the defenses they brought online. Do you believe any of that would be adaptable to our use? I have some ideas, but they'll need significant development time and approval from the command chain.

If I'm needed for any reason, I've just been cleared to return to my post. You'll find me in Special Weapons attempting to organize the new inventory and drafting up anti-Ohm projects. If anyone else purchased new tools for us during shore leave, feel free to drop them off at any time.

-Billy

((OOC: Pausing my replies about Lex's proposal right now. This is going to require mod work and OOC coordination, especially because I foresee a big brawl over it. I'll wait until more of you come online to discuss it. Hope that's okay, Will.))

I can tell you more about their fighting styles and weak points. It'll be easier to talk in person.

I also bought a lot of spare parts we can use.

It'll be a while until I can make it over too.

I'm apprenticed to a blacksmith. And trying to learn this whole "science" thing I've heard about. I help make weapons all the time.

Are you one of the master blacksmiths here?

[identity profile] i-saw-myself.livejournal.com 2010-07-01 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I will. Mostly to see how you can make weapons without steel.

Interesting.

Are you sure someone like you is up to the task?

That isn't what I meant, young man. Designing weaponry takes more than just scientific acumen and artistic sense. It takes a flagrant lack of ethics and conscience as well. After all, if you want to create something with will kill an obscene amount of Ohm with as little effort as possible, you need to be absolutely ruthless in your approach.

I don't think a boy like you has the fortitude necessary to lead that kind of project.

Go fuck yourself.

Don't listen to this guy, Billy. He's just trying to worm his way into more power so he can screw us over.

Sorry, I don't have any of the data from the reactor.

All I might have is from the computer on my mobile suit, from what it may have recorded during the battle.

I might not be a scientist like you people are, but I did notice a lot of stuff when I was down there kicking butt. If you'll have me, I'll lend my knowledge of Alchemy to your ideas.

I'm sure 8 recorded plenty of data when I was fighting, so I might be able to give you a hand.

As well, I can also help ya build anything you need.

I can dump everything my sensors got, if you want. Dunno how much use it is, but I've got thermal and electromagnetic scans, and my straight visual is a lot more powerful than human vision, if you need to zoom it in or something.

Our assassin buddy in the reactor control room didn't show up on any of them. Maybe I should look into upgrades. :(

I only have sensor data and visuals on the Shrikes, but I can share what was recorded and seen of them. The sensor package on the rescue shuttle I was on is more diverse than in an X-Wing.
