[every single omnicomm on the ship is getting some sort of noticeable alert for this message]

Hello, fellow friends and crewmates, and thank you for taking the time to view this message. For those who have not yet personally met me, I am Dhianeila Y Leisha Altoria Ol Yunos, one of the elected council members aboard this ship.

During our recent mission just outside of the planet NiSaris, both myself and Setsuna F. Seiei were able to accomplish a very brief, personal encounter with the Ohm. I would like to share with all of you what we have learned from this encounter, although I much apologize if your curiosities, as frustrating as they are, are not completely satiated from this information, due to the very small window of opportunity that was presented to us. But I believe any further information is a great thing for us who are still lost, and not completely sure of our own circumstances.

Many of us on board have voiced fears of the Ohm being an emotionless, violent hive mind. What we learned from our encounter is that they are, in fact, not any of those things. Each of them possessed their own thoughts and feelings. And though not a hive mind of any sort, they communicate with each other in such a way ... where their entire race has developed a mental connection between one another. And together they speak, deliberate and act as a result of this unique form of communication. Some were surprised, frightened at our alleged intrusion -- our attempt to speak with them. Though they do not communicate and speak the same way many of us on board this ship do, what they conveyed was still understandable to a very general extent. As unfortunate and heartbreaking as our losses have been, they do not simply seem to be acting on unexplainable violence. For a reason, some reason we still have yet to discover, they relayed a strange feeling of sadness, wrapped in an opinion and view of us ... as having done something terrible. There is a reason for their actions, and it is my strongest hope that we can discover this reason and more as soon as we possibly can, for the benefit of all.

Our limit of opportunity to learn these things was very short-- a few moments at most, before we were pushed away and swept back into the battle ensuing around us. So I do not have any more information aside from what I have just explained. Still, do not hesitate to speak to me, other council members, and each other about anything regarding this. Together we all wish for the same thing; for the Ohm to stop their actions, to save those in danger of losing their homes and to somehow find a way for us to restore our own. And it is only working with and trusting in one another that can get us there. Please wish Setsuna a quick recovery, as if it were not for him and his help, this would not have occurred. I thank you for your time.

Well, that was an unfortunate incident. Apparently I've been out a few months and not a few days, like normal. Mind bringing me up to speed...Captain, is it still?

I'm not sure, and my apologies if I'm incorrect.

To the new arrivals on the ship - welcome to Stacy. You've caught us at kind of a bad time, what with the contagious rage virus running around in the city, but we march on.

My name is Lieutenant Trudy Chacon, and I'm posting on behalf of Starfighter Command, which is Stacy's space fighter force. If you come with piloting experience, whether it be in an atmosphere or spacecraft, we're always looking to add to the ranks.

Starfighter Command consists of three squadrons, each with their own specialized fighter.
Rogue Squadron - Stacy's original fighter squadron, utilizes the T-65 X-wing starfighter, a sturdy snubfighter craft. I personally fly in Rogue Squadron.
Skull Squadron - Utilizes the VF-25 Messiah and VF-171EX Nightmare Plus, variable-fighter craft with the ability to transform from snubfighter to mobile suit craft mid-flight. Also the fastest craft in Starfighter Command.
Blade Squadron - Utilizes the capabilities of various Mobile Suits, including Mobile Suits classified as Gundams. While many of the pilots in this squadron have their own mobile suits, volunteers without mobile suits will be placed in available ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warriors or GAT-04 Windams.

Starfighter Command also operates a Medevac and Rescue Shuttle Unit, piloted mostly by civilian volunteers. While this is under the umbrella of Starfighter Command, shuttle pilots aren't considered military.

For pilots who wish to join Starfighter Command - understand that you will be placing yourself in a military structure, within the military chain of command. Failure to appear for training sessions or scrambles, insubordination or conduct not befitting a member of Starfighter Command will not be tolerated.

If you don't have any piloting experience, or your experience is non-military or with atmosphere craft, we will still accept you as a volunteer, with the caveat that you will have to enter and complete Basic Training. Most of the other pilots have already been through Basic and can tell you what it's like, but it's not easy.

I'd be happy to take any questions you have.

Friends,

I'd like to take this time to thank you for your support throughout our election. I'm entirely honored to have received your confidence and I will not take this trust for granted.

If there's ever anything you need to bring to my attention, my proverbial door is always open. Thank you again.

Your humble representative,

I'm probably supposed to give some huge speech right now, but all I can think of to say is... Thank you. Not just to the people who voted for me (though I'm honored by your faith in me), but to everyone who voted, ran, and campaigned. It took a lot of hard work for this crew to get to this point, and we're still just getting started.

I'd also like to congratulate the new members of the Council, as well as my First Officer, Nathan Petrelli. He's one of a handful of people who has been part of the crew for longer than I have, and he's done nothing but work on your behalf the entire time I've known him. He'll do one hell of a job.

This crew needs to know what to expect out of a military leader. This ship needs someone who is willing to take responsibility for this crew, and our mission. We need someone who can take control of the situation, and actually lead us instead of just taking orders from the Daligig. We're not going to win this war by doing that. The fact they had to conscript us to fight for them should be evidence enough that they lack the ability, or knowledge to wage a successful campaign. They have us fighting a defensive war, and reacting to the Ohm. We don't have the resources, or personnel for that.

This war calls for a leader familiar with fighting, and beating an enemy superior in both numbers, and resources. I ask that when you vote that you please consider these things.

I am also declaring my candidacy for the position of Captain.

Attention, all pilots and other squadron personnel.

There will be a debriefing on our engagement with the Ohm tomorrow at 1230 hours.

I want all of you to know that I am proud of your conduct in the fight and all of you have done the squadron proud. Well done.

That is all.

Ohm attacking the planet.

Send situation updates whenever possible. What are you fighting and where. Send word if you need aid/evacuation.

Let's get a coherent idea of what we're facing.

Edit: Still no strategy.

So, while Stacy has given everyone some pocket change to spend during shore leave, I've been tasked with securing enough supplies to sustain us, and future pod-released crew members, for the long-term. Which means three things:

1) I have access to more money than the rest of you combined, a thousand times over. Not that such a thing is unusual for me.

2) I'll be spending an ungodly amount of it, as we have no idea when we'll get another chance to stock up. And

3) If you want me to spend some of that money on something you need or want but can't afford, drop me a line and I'll consider your request. Do remember, however, that nothing is free.

That is all. Enjoy your vacation.

There will be a squadron meeting and briefing for new squadron members at 1600 hours. Current members are expected to attend as well. That is all.

[identity profile] yubyubcommander.livejournal.com
First off, welcome aboard to all of our new arrivals. It's disconcerting to be here, I know, but we'll all be working together to get things done and hopefully get things back to the way they should be.

I'm General Wedge Antilles and I'm currently commanding our force projection unit, known as Rogue Squadron. We will, in all likelyhood, end up flying a variety of craft as well as operate on the ground as a commando unit. However, at this time we fly and maintain space superiority fighters: the Incom T-65B X-wing starfighter. We will gladly take any volunteers who wish to join the squadron.

Further we don't just need pilots. We need mechanics, technicians and hangar crew, as our current ground crew is a grand total of one. Anyone who has mechanical skill and would be willing to join up would be greatly appreciated as we also have plans in the works for modifications and upgrades to other craft.

We need pilots for shuttles and larger craft for the eventual recovery of EVA pilots, landings, possibly under fire, on planets and ship-to-ship boarding operations. Those who have skills in small arms, infiltration, demolitions and other commando related skills can speak to me or to Commander Shepard, who will be running our commando operations and training.

I wish to make it clear that by joining Rogue Squadron you will be joining a functioning military unit, albeit a volunteer one. You'll be expected to maintain our training schedule, follow orders, and treat your superior officers with proper respect. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to direct them to me.

We should meet to discuss what to do about Thrawn and Vader. In person, not over the com networks.

I'd like to suggest ____ time at the Rogue Squadron headquarters in the city.
[identity profile] jaded-jedi.livejournal.com
Just thought you all should know, that in addition to Admiral Thrawn being here...I saw Darth Vader when I left the pods. He's not much of a threat just now, seeing as he was armorless and oozing on the ground when I saw him, but we should be ever vigilant.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Rogue Squadron will be taking on a second mission and operations role. That is to act as an organized commando and quick reaction force on board Stacy and elsewhere as needed when we are called upon to either react to attack or, if needed, project power beyond the ship. I wish to note that this duty is not a compulsory part of your training or your service in the squadron. Most of you signed up to be pilots, and anyone who wishes to be exempted from this duty will be allowed to.

However, there are several younger members in the squadron who I cannot allow to participate in this part of our mission in good conscience. It's one thing to allow you to pilot fighter craft, but I cannot, in good faith, allow fourteen, fifteen and sixteen year-olds to engage in dangerous commando operations. If you feel you have a compelling reason that will induce me to allow you to serve in this capacity, please feel free to present your reasons to me privately. Don't expect me to change my mind beyond extraordinary circumstances, however.

All those willing to serve in this capacity, please respond here and let me know what sort of skills you have that may be useful in this capacity. Specifically, such skills include small arms, demolitions, hand-to-hand combat, infiltration and communications.

--General Wedge Antilles, Rogue Squadron, Officer Commanding

An apology

Hello, everyone. My name is Sam Henderson. I guess I'm new here, and I'm afraid I've made a horrible first impression on some of you.

I want to whole-heartedly apologize for the harm I've caused to Ms. Uhura, the near-harm caused to Fletcher, and others whose names I don't know. There was also a man in an orange flight suit and another young woman.

I make no excuses for what I've done, and if there's anything I can do to make amends for it, please let me know.

I would also like to offer my sincerest thanks to Ms. Katara, to the two young ladies that rescued Fletcher, those that came to Ms. Uhura's aid, and the gentleman in the flight suit's feline companion for preventing anything truly horrible from happening. Spike, I know you told me to stop whining, but I do thank you for your help.

This is all horrifically embarrassing, both personally as a fellow crewmember, and professionally as a doctor. By trade, I am a trauma surgeon. I'm supposed to help people, not hurt them. I would still like to join the Medical team here on this ship, but I expect I should take some time to get my head around these circumstances. However, that said, if something should happen and more hands are needed, please don't hesitate to call on me. I would like to help however I can.

Thank you for your time and understanding, everyone.

Considering the recent influx of new recruits, I think the squadron needs some reorganization. Here's a list of our pilots:

Cut not here IC )

I'd like to switch this up, obviously. I want at least one experienced pilot in each flight. That means Tycho, Luke, Mara, Jaina, Kyle and Gavin need to get spread around flights two through four. Thoughts, suggestions?

EDIT: Added Kyle.

ATTN: ROGUE SQUADRON

There will be a squadron meeting tomorrow at our headquarters building in the city, 1300 hours. Expect regular training to resume shortly as well.

I expect all of you to be there. If you have a compelling reason that you will not be able to attend, I suggest you give it to me now.
