So if you've been checking your comms you saw a message about a basement in the Statuary. Well, in case you didn't read the comments, turns out that basement is full of Reavers.

Reavers are from our home universe - the crew of Serenity's home universe that is - so I figured I should give you the rundown on what they are.

They used to be men, but because the Alliance can't leave well enough alone, they introduced an agent called Pax on a newly-settled world. Most of the people influenced by the Pax just... stopped. Stopped everything... moving, eating, drinking, even breathing after a while. The whole planet of Miranda's full of nothing but ghosts now because of it. But aside from that, some of the people turned into Reavers.

They're rabid lunatics bent on violating you, eating you and then skinning you to make you into boots. And that's if your lucky, because sometimes they might decide to eat you first. Or skin you first. Just depends on the level of crazy.

So if you want my opinion we should go down there with a few hundred grenades and blow the whole thing up.

So, I've been thinking about this kind of thing and the community on the ship. haven't been really active but i was thinking about organizing a moot.

back home, a moot is sort of a party, but it's more about coming together as a community and exchanging stories of past deeds and remembering who's been lost and all that. i know that we're in the middle of a crisis kind of thing, but i think it might be good to start thinking about this and putting it together.

For all my current students, and anyone else interested, doing some small unit tactical training in the sensoriums. (http://trans-9.livejournal.com/708133.html?view=comments) ; I try and get in there on a regular basis, so if you miss one, that's fine. Its hard work, but I'll work with anyone who sticks it out.
Some of my trainees could use training partners. Eventually, we're also going to need non-combatants to come help out, since we're going to be covering helping rescue downed pilots, escorting medical and so on before too long.

Anyone is welcome to come to me for private lessons. I know about a dozen close combat styles, armed and unarmed both, can do sniper and firearms work... just give me a call if you're interested.

This is Councilor Kang, with a few announcements.

First, the Council will be holding an open audience in Le Prefecture in five days' time. If you have any questions or concerns, or suggestions, you are free to address them to us.

Second, I am putting out an official statement about the Tower of High Sorcery in the City. It is a building from Krynn, my world, and there are a number of highly dangerous magical items inside that can severely damage or kill you if you don't know how to properly handle them. If you visit the Tower, you need to have either myself or Aibghalien Marsai present.

Lord Bight, would you be willing to act as a safety guide as well?.

Lastly, everyone should be aware of Dr. Henderson's post regarding the recent cases of memory loss, and changed behavior or appearance.

Two of the human crewmembers affected, Rachel and Marco, left the med bay before Quarantine was opened. They are a possible danger due to the memory loss; they have the ability to take the form of animals, or even other people. If you see any animals, or people, acting suspicious, please inform Security and the med bay as soon as possible.

My name is General Trudy Chacon and I'm the CO of Starfighter Command, Stacy's first line of defense. We are a military command specializing in the use of snubfighters and mobile suits.

If you have previous flight experience, we need you. The Ohm numbers are vastly superior to our own and every pilot makes a difference between victory and annihilation. If you have no or little previous flight experience and want to volunteer, we still need you.

Our training regimen is harsh and you are expected to keep to the standards of military discipline. All permanent recruits will be fitted for dress and duty uniforms and are responsible for overseeing the maintenance of their own craft.

If you want to join Starfighter Command, be at our physical training exercises tomorrow at 0500 sharp. Not all of you may make the cut - it's not personal, I just have an aversion to my soldiers coming back in a box.

Hello crew! I noticed we don't have anything domesticated in the giant garden . . . area, place, so I used my money from Stacy to buy some livestock. Aren't they cute?

[The picture accompanying the message is of a couple of some medium-sized animals, looking an awful lot like sloths, but four feet tall at the shoulder and with long, light fur. The fur appears translucent white, except where it appears to be lit from within in electric shades of purple and orange. All of the animals' bioluminescence is in more or less the same, jagged pattern in the photo.]

The breeder on XaXing said the females will produce eggs and milk when they reach maturity in a few months, like a platypus bear. That gives me enough time to train them to be milked. Does anyone want to help take care of them? They're very gentle, but not quite as restful as sloth-bats, so it would help if they were socialized in playing with humans and other speaking people.

Oh, and I was talking to someone about shearing animals to weave their fur before! What was your name again? You need to come by and meet the herd. Their wool is beautiful. You can make wonderful blankets out of it, and they're close to needing a shearing.

Also, I brought back this special fungus that they need to keep making the colors in their fur like they do. Can anyone help me start a crop to keep in their diet? It sounds kind of unnecessary, but they communicate by changing the patterns of their color, so actually it would be really great for the health of the herd if somebody who's a gardener would cultivate it on the ship!

I have a favor to ask: I have found one of my creations in the hangar - Serpentera, a massive WarZord of incredible power. But, as it stands, it needs a few... adjustments. Especially to its power supply. I need someone capable of fixing it so it doesn't go out when it's absolutely needed.

Oh, and I'm sure Billy's told you all about me by now. Just a quick warning - don't try to sabotage me and my works. You know you need me so you can win this war, how counterproductive would that be if you went and did that, hm?

Hello and welcome to the new members of the crew of the Transmigration 9! I am Dr. Samuel Henderson, and while appearances may be deceiving, I am the Chief Medical Officer of this ship. I hope everyone is getting settled in comfortably, I just have a few quick announcements.

First, I would like to introduce everyone to our new Senior Medical Administrator, Miss Anwei Ayles. She will be handling our steadily-growing medical database, and is also someone you can talk to to schedule your physical. But more on that in a moment.

Second, Medical is always looking for new faces. If you have any expertise in the medical field in any capacity, from patient care, to nursing, to administration, to healing, I'd love to speak with you.

Third, there are two evaluations all crew members must undergo. A physical evaluation, and a psychological evaluation. This is so that we may monitor the overall condition of the crew, and be sure there are no surprises. There are easily hundreds of different worlds represented in its current crew, and we have little data on each of them individually, so this is important to everyone's well-being. Medical as a whole will be handling the physicals, and Dr. Leonard Samson will be conducting the psychological evaluations.

Fourth, and this one message is directed to a very specific subset of the crew, my fellow vampires. I do have a store of blood that I've collected from some of our various periods of shore leave. At this point there's not much left, but to my knowledge, there isn't many of us.

What up new crew!

This is Beastboy here, you may have read that note from one very awesome Sasami Masaki Jurai where she mentioned the Outsiders? Yeah I'm one of them.

The Outsiders is a group that was started to provide kind of a support group for teens and kids on board here. It's a huge deal that's happened obviously, but it's alot easier to deal with when you're with people who are in the same...well...boat. Ya know?

We hang out alot ya know? Goof around, play games. And if you're into it we also do training sessions with each other or with guest trainers. One of the best parts about this ship is we've got some real big league brains and powers to learn from ya know?

If you wanna come see what's up, maybe make some new friends you can head into the city. Our hotel should be marked on your maps. I'm gonna be down there and hopefully the co-founder (And brains behind this operation) Kaya will be there too.

Oh! And one more thing. Our rooms at the hotel? pretty comfy~ Ya know if you wanna place to crash.

First, allow me to welcome our new crewmembers. I hope you've all figured out how to use your omnicomms; if you are a senior crewmember who knows a newly-awakened person having trouble with theirs, I hope you'll do them the favor of assisting them.

As those of you who are new might have heard, the ship's crew belongs to several departments and divisions most suited to the individual's talents. This message is on behalf of the department of which I am a member, the Magic Department.

For those of you who are unaware of magic's existence, well, I promise you it is real. For those of you who are practitioners of a magical, mystical, or supernatural art: if you are interested in joining the department, our headquarters are in the Jedi Temple in the City. I encourage you to come by.

To all crewmembers: recently I discovered a location of substantial arcane power within the City. We have every reason to believe that there are substantial spells of protection and warding on the building, intended to deal with trespassers and unauthorized visitors. I strongly urge no one to visit this building, until such time as those protections can be neutralized in the long-term, unless you are in the presence of myself or Kang.
