This is Brainiac 5 speaking.

This is a notice to those who have spent the last few weeks searching for myself and my fellow captive.

I simply want to inform you that your services are no longer required.

greetings, sentients of inferior intellect.

this is the green god of science speaking only i'm not speaking i'm thinking at you because thinking is a thing to do because i have nothing else to do

it's funny how revealing one can be when one is 011010000111010101110010011101000110100101101110011001110000110100001010.

go forth, my child, into the night
dream your starlit dream
let go of worry, say goodbye to fright
and watch the bright stars gleam

bright-eyed child, seize the day
when the morning comes
watch the sun rise with new eyes
while the pampars beat like drums

I would like to nominate someone for banning from the Engineering department. I know we haven't done this before, so I'm calling a staff meeting tomorrow at 1000 hours to discuss it, because I am aware I have a bias.

[Locked to Billy]

I need to talk to you privately. Tonight if possible.

It seems as if I've missed something important. My apologies, I was carrying out repairs elsewhere on the ship.

To those who are interested, I'm nearing completion on a section of the ship identified as the Spacewalk. It provides a view outside the ship that I can only describe as 'gorgeous', though it's been exposed to a vacuum. I should be completed within a week, if all goes well. It would be sooner, but I am working with limited materials. I'm sorry about the delay. I do have a question, however. How should I dispose if the corpses in here? When I reintroduce gravity and an atmosphere, they will begin to rot.

Aside from that... Querl? Nightwing? Are the two of you unharmed?

Brainy, uh, one of the other Legionaires is in the Medbay. She, uh, fainted. Thought you might wanna know.

[This is likely being recorded voice-to-text because even high, he wouldn't write like this, but he would talk like this.]

Lyyyyylllllllle. Seeeeensor. Breeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenda. Duh.

I have made such a fantastic discovery. I felt the need to share it. Where are you guys?

No, I suppose you're not all guys. Where are you peoples? People? Persons?

Gentlebeings?

..."Dudes"? I've heard people using that word before in reference to groups of mixed sexes. Is that a gender specific word? Let's go on the assumption it isn't.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuudes. Hypothesize where I am right now.

Do it.

Dooooo iiiit.

Brainiac 5 was not a Thinking Machine.

He was a person made of different materials.

I regret that it took his life to show me that.

[Private to Arha]

Everything, please.

To both of the Mister Brainiac Fives ... please meet me in the Sensorium.

I believe you might be of help with something ... and I also need to speak with you both about activities related to before our last mission.

The laboratory facilities are NOT, nor will they ever be, an appropriate location to use for the purposes of procreative relations.

Sanitary conditions must be maintained. This should be a non-issue.

If you could have any one thing right now, what would it be? You're not allowed to pick "going home" though, because that's a copout.

Personally, I would kill for a slushie.

Ho-hum

On a more positive note, I believe we're on the verge of a breakthrough with creating communication rings that will expand or contract for our size-changing users. Affected crew members, feel free to inquire about the details I'm sparing the general public. We may need to run final tests, and after that I hope to distribute the augmented rings.

Edit: Dr. McCoy, your project is almost complete. The tricorder has been particularly tricky to duplicate, but between the entire engineering team, it's difficult for much to escape us. The tools will be in your hands as soon as possible.

Question: Is anyone else here normal? I mean, human. Preferably from 21st century Earth, and without all the laser guns and robots and whatever else it is you people are doing.

But if you are from some freaky sci-fi planet, which one is it?

As my colleague has posted, the Omnicoms are indeed functional. Commenting is now enabled.

Captain's Log, Stardate supplemental:

With a divided crew and troubled minds, I have been granted command of this vessel by a slim majority vote. My intentions are no more and no less than what Miss Bennet had intended: safely ensuring the return home of each member of this crew.

Still, many seem to view this change in command as though I intend to establish some military dictatorship. It's difficult to imagine this crew ever uniting completely, and I'm well aware I have my work cut out for me. I'm almost tempted to ask Miss Bennet if she wasn't simply passing the frustrations on to me. A twisted sort of welcome present, if so.

With James Tiberius Kirk as my current Number One, I am currently running through a roster of Lieutenant Commanders in the secondary tiers of the command staff. Several I have no problems with. Worf and the Chief seem to be getting along, thank goodness for that, and Doctor McCoy was already present and a part of this crew.

Commander Spock has arrived as well, and I believe I'll be establishing a separate science team from the engineering crew, with him as its commander. With two teams working on different yet potentially overlapping projects, I imagine answers may come that much faster, especially if problems are approached from multiple angles thanks to the arrangement.

There are a large number of 'metahumans' and 'mutants' aboard: humanoid beings, highly human in appearance, all with fascinatingly powerful abilities and skills. I'm still working out how to make use of these in the individual teams, but it seems so far that the teams are well established already.

The boy, 'Spider-Man', however, concerns me. Superman stated that the suit he wears is alive, and not in the fashion of the living 'plantsuits' the majority of the crew is wearing. His behavior is erratic, fidgety. I fear it's only a matter of time before I am forced to call security on him. Perhaps a visit from Doctor McCoy is in order.
