[open to all]

What does one do to make sure a relationship works?
morganknight: (oh really?)

What's the most important thing in the world to this lucky guy?

That's a good place to start. It's hard to speak generally, honestly. Everyone's just a little different.

The most important thing, I think, is that we each accepted that there were certain things we held more important than each other. Fundamental beliefs.

It helped a lot that we shared a lot of common interests.

I won't also pretend that it didn't help that she was hot as hell.

Oh, trust me, you've got it goin' on in the looks department. Guys might talk up the T&A, but fit and athletic is where it's at, no question.

Anyway, if you ever need some advice, it's a familiar path to me. I'll do what I can to help.

Well... I won't pretend that a lot of guys prefer a girl who can't challenge them. Intellectually, or physically. They feel it's somehow demeaning or degrading to 'lose' to a girl, especially a girl who's supposed to be crazy about them. How can the girl like them if the girl is better than them?

That's insecurity and chauvinism talking. The best partner is not one who will gladly recognize you as superior, but challenge you to be their equal.

So long as you're both absolutely delighted the other notices you, hmm?
