Well, he helped me out with an issue I've been working on for a while and I've learned about so many new things from him. We've been mostly training together, but I've been helping him out with things of his own so that it's not just him doing all the work.

For start? Lie. Manipulation is very important if you want to keep hold of your relationship and make sure you're happy. You have to make sure that you appeal to them long enough that they start to not only want you, but need you.
