No Way, No How

It's come to my attention that we now have these mandatory screenings? The health ones I understand, because hey, let's catch those alien parasites before they explode out of people, right? Very sound plan.

The psychological one, though, I'm not sure who I have to talk to about it, so I'm just talking about it here, since I figure they'll see it.

I'm claiming cultural...uh, exemption.

Talking about...things, and feelings, is not really a Viking thing to do. So I'm not doing it. Annnd you can't make me.

Then that's your decision.

I truly am sorry that people are uncomfortable with the idea, but we are not asking for anyone to spill their guts to strangers. We want to ensure that everyone is functional and healthy enough to work on the crew, and if they are not, we want to find ways to help them.

It really isn't an effort to remove people's privacy or try to get into their heads.

I would personally rather take that chance than get stabbed by someone who goes stir-crazy up here.

There is no perfect solution, unfortunately.

Does the proper Viking way involve ripping people's lungs out of their backs?

I'm just curious, I read a book once.

I didn't say that, did I? Just a little joke.

In any case, what you say or don't say, it's up to you. But I doubt this policy will be changing, so I apologize if you're uncomfortable with it.
