As many of you may know, I have been at work constructing a secure network of gateways or portals if you would rather, to aid in transport throughout this vessel. Particularly in times of need. I have not been alone in this project, far from it and I thank the hard work of those who assisted me.
As of moments ago the final gateways have been placed and the Gateway network is now fully operational. Tests have proved the connections thus far stable, even while traveling through the bleed as we now are once more. Gates can remain open for up to roughly ten minutes before they are closed off to conserve power, during this time there is no limit as to the amount of matter that passes through thus can be used for the transportation of supplies and large amounts of people from one location to another.
We have worked in conjunction with Ronnae and her team that has constructed the Teleporters to provide the best combination of services we are able.
The locations of the gates in question are as follows:
Level 1: Medical bay
Level 2: Pod Caverns
Level 3: Armoury
Level 4: City - Precinct
Level 4: City - Starboard Safe Zone
Level 4: City - Grand Central Terminal
Level 5: Engineering
Level 5: Hydroponics
Level 5: Observation deck
Level 6: Hanger - Near Macross Quarter docking area
[Locked to command]
In addition, command personnel have access to an additional Gate.
Level 5: Command bridge - Restricted Access
[/lock]
Notes for use
- The control panel of each Gateway device will display the list of destinations available to you, in order to travel to that location select it from the list. It will then give you the prompt to connect.
-If the location you desire is greyed out it is likely that there is another connection already being made to the gate in question, merely tap the destination and it will alert the other end that another connection is wished.
-Once the gate is connected you need only step through the threshold, there is no risk in doing so.
-I have set up failsafe's that even should a connection falter you would be deposited whole on one side or the other.
-Should any problems be found or any of the gates malfunction, send a message to myself and/or engineering and we shall sort it out.
