(no subject)

Dear 'Command Staff' & Crew,

Sawyer here. I'd just like to say I ain't seen a bigger group of babies in my entire life. Yeah, the twerp and the girl with the creepy eyes said somethin' ya didn't like. Yeah, they hurt yer damn feelings. So What! Grow the F*#K up already. Hell, some of ya'll are supposed to be damn 'superheroes' and ya'll are b*tchin' and moanin' like a bunch of goddamn sissies. Are you kiddin' me? So they said somethin' ya didn't like, tough. Grow a pair and shut up.

But, since we on the subject: What in the HELL?

Since when do we call in the cavalry to take out a mouthy little girl for talkin' back? Seriously? I mean f*ckin' SERIOUSLY? Don't know about the rest of ya, but where I come from, we have a little thing called 'freedom of speech,' which means I get to say whatever the hell I want no matter how much it pisses you the hell off because, guess what, you get to do it, too. And there ain't no way I'm gonna sit back and let a power-trippin' prick with a title behind his name take that away just 'cause he feel like it. I don't care who the hell he is!

Now, I didn't vote for any of these knuckleheads but this sure as hell wasn't what I expected when everyone else did. I mean, damn, we got our captain tryin' to arrest a damn KID for sayin' somethin' people didn't like. And then he's gonna go and tell her she can't use her 'magic?' For what? 'Cause she pissed him off? I ain't got any 'superpowers' and I sure as hell can't use magic, but I ain't blind. How the hell they gonna tell anyone not to use their powers? For what? Cuz they ain't got anyw? This ain't the first time they tried to lock someone up for sayin' sh*t they didn't like, an apparently it ain't gonna be the last, looks to me like our little Fuhrer and his Gestapo got themselves a little problem with bein' prejudiced and a little power-happy.

I mean, hell, we got the Captain threatenin' to use 'security' to lock up a little girl for speaking her mind. Then we got a Chief of Security that won't let the super-powered kids into security cuz he seems to think that patrollin' the city is just "too dangerous" for them to be doin' cuz they might get "hurt" but sendin' 'em to the damn frontlines when sh*t starts goin' down like they damn cannon-fodder is just, well, shucks it's ALL RIGHT. WTF? You seriously expect me to believe that fighting the sh*t we've had to go up against is safer for kids than walkin' the city and stoppin' the crew from friggin' JAY-WALKING?!? Where the hell is the logic in that, aside from keepin' everyone with superpowers OUT of security whether they wanna help out or not for no other reason than...aww, hell, it's so f*ckin' stupid that I can't even make up a damn reason!

And another thing. Why the hell ain't there a woman in the command staff higher than department head? Seriously? We promoted a damn dinosaur to the senior command and there's only TWO of 'em on the damn ship! You seriously tellin' me there ain't a single woman on this boat that ain't got what it takes? Hell, I can name FIVE off the top of my head!

Now, our little 'command crew' likes to point out that we all gotta stay in line cuz, if we don't, they gonna send us to the brig. What they've apparently forgot is that there are consequences to abuse of power, too. Luckily, rumor has it, when these clowns were elected it was made pretty darn clear that if they did sh*t like this, the crew could vote to remove them. Well, ain't no one done it...yet. So, I'm gonna start it. I'm officially movin' for a recall of the entire command crew, the Captain down to the department heads.

Yeah, it woulda been nice if the little girl and her blue-eyed friend had kept their mouths shut. But they didn't. And there's a lotta times it'd be nice if a lotta people kept their mouths shut, command included. But they don't. But sayin' somethin' that pisses people off isn't even in the same ball park as tryin' ARREST someone for sayin' somethin' you don't like. Like the man in tights said: the captain crossed the line. And it's a line he shouldn't've crossed and I ain't about to give him or anyone else a chance to try to cross it again.

So, if ya with me, great. If ya not, fine. Just keep in mind, like the kid said, who's to say who'll be next?

But if we're going to criticize the current crew for not being voted in, then shouldn't we vote their replacements in too?

Besides, no offense, but how do you know who's best qualified? I don't think I'd be able to pick a Science department head or a Medical department head, because it's not what I know.

Well, all right.

But you still didn't answer the second part of what I said.

Well, I think part of the problem is that in a life-or-death situation like we were just in, not listening to the people in charge can get people killed. There's a time for speaking your mind and a time for working as a team, don't you agree?

I don't know if the Captain was right to do what he did - and it should have been my responsibility to do anyway - but it's not always so simple as "People saying things that other people don't like." What if I was threatening people? Wouldn't you be right to step in and stop me?

I'm just saying. You can agree that there are moments when you would have to do something like that, right? Even if it wasn't the case here. Because whoever we elect into power might have to, someday.

And please, call me Nanoha if you wouldn't mind. I prefer going by names, you know?

Okay, I'm glad we're on the same page there at least.

I haven't seen the conversation in question; maybe she said something that could have been interpreted in an entirely different light. We're all still kind of tired and stressed, and his position carries with it a really big burden.

Just... if we do get a new leader after all, even if something like this happens again, I don't think that yelling and pointing fingers (even in text) is the best way to make people listen to each other. And we have to listen to each other, or we'll never get anything done.
