[Announcement] Upcoming Prom and royalty nominations!

Hello friends!

I am very pleased that everyone has returned to us, and I sincerely hope that you will be well soon. When you are ready, I hope to offer a joyous occasion to all of you: a promenade, though I am told to refer to such an event as a prom. As I have learned, it is a formal dancing event with elaborate costumes, dying plants attached to strange places, snack items, and a royal court elected by the dancers.

Many weeks ago, I joined a committee to plan this event, but our original organizer has been returned to stasis. I wish to continue her work and provide all of you with a wonderful time! These are the details I have determined so far:

This event will be held in approximately five days, when I hope everyone has recovered. It will take place in the Sensoriums, so you do not need to have your formal attire physically made. You may attend alone, with a partner, or as a group! The theme will be a beautiful underwater world, and there will be opportunities for swimming if you would prefer to dance in the water.

Please comment here if you have questions, would like to assist, or have nominations for our royal court! I have heard that this is one of the most important activities of a prom, so I will take great care.

You may nominate one couple to be the co-rulers of our prom, one or two individuals to serve as princes and princesses of the court, and one person to be our court jester! The jester will wear a whimsical costume and entertain us all with their unique talents. Please post your nominations and discuss them in the indicated space, in this format:

Couple:
Court-fellows:

-
Jester:

If you are nominated, please respond with your acceptance or refusal of the nomination, and if you are nominated in more than one category, you may choose which one you wish to run in. We do not wish to elect someone who will not be in attendance. In three days' time, I will ask for your votes on the nominees with anonymous ballots, it is not yet the time to vote!

Thank you, and I hope to see you all in attendance!

It's just as Starfire said, Hoshi. Its a sort of formal dance party, typically one of the major social opportunities for high school students. She's opening it to everyone, apparently, but this is especially popular with teenagers.

Everyone has the opportunity to display their taste in formal attire, to dance with their friends and romantic partners, to take photos, to eat a fine meal, and socialize. I've nominated you both for prom king and queen. Don't worry, it's not a big job. If you win, you'll probably be given crowns and robes to wear as well as the opportunity to make speeches. You'll then choose a song and have a private dance just for the two of you, and you'll be able to make as many music requests as you want for the rest of the night.

I never got to attend my own prom before my world ended, though, so I'm just describing what I heard from older students. Starfire might choose to do some things differently.

Oh, now I get it! It's like the class trip the seniors in high school take.

Well, I can handle that responsibility should I be the prom queen, but I'm happy if I don't win, too. It'll be great to see someone else in the spotlight!

I see... As far as my school went, we had mostly clubs, sports, and the like. Formal dances don't really exist and the only ones I've been to is during military functions. Though, we're told to study for our entrance exams so that we can go to university to begin the next step of education.
