So, I was thinking that we should try and get together a list of the under-eighteens here so we can make sure we know what we're doing with the on-board school stuff. And since we had that new podpop, so there might be new people we're missing. If you are one or you know one, please speak up so I can work on a roster or something. And can I get all the people who have signed up as teachers to tell me what they're working on?

I'm Meluly. I'm doing some basic math and physics and stuff, but I've been kind of scarce lately. I'm sorry about that, it was a personal matter.

Oh, I've completed my schooling, officially. The age of majority in the UP sphere is fourteen. I'm most interested in the sociology courses, however.

That's interesting. It must be a more efficient school system or something than I'm used to to chop out four years.

I believe efficiency was the goal when the system was designed. A great many people put a great deal of work into it, to make sure it worked for all of the planets.

Smart people. Kind of wish we had them working for us (but we're planet, singular right now). Probably be good for the war effort, thinking about it.

What kind of war are you fighting?

Alien invaders are trying to occupy the Earth for basically unknown ends. It's been going for about ten years now.

Grife! My sympathies. What do you know about these aliens so far?

Barely anything... they're extremely alien. I'm talking psychologists to interpret what military troop movements mean level of difference.

They came from somewhere around Pluto and they've been on the job for at least thirty years. That's when they engineered my people to try and do the job for them.

That sounds horrible! Do you have any of the data with you? We work with species from a great many planets in the Legion, I might be able to provide some insight.

Not really on hand but I could check and see if the library has anything.

The best guess our specialists have been able to make is that they're scared of us enough to want to wipe us out, but either want to preserve Earth's ecosystem somewhat or they have some kind of taboo against orbitally bombarding a developed planet.

Fear has its roots in ignorance, and that's one of the things that the Legion fights against.
