Simon's Stab At the Council Seat.

Hello, everyone.
My name is Simon. I am admittedly still new to this place, this ship, but I would like to help out where I can - hopefully as a council member.
I don't have very much in the way of political experience - just a few years' worth, to tell the truth. Prior to those years, the only real government my world had was a tyrant of a king who forced humans to live underground - my brother and I helped stir up a rebellion. After he fell, I picked up where he left off, and led a ragtag group of people to victory against that king and his armies. From there, we built up cities and government from the ground up - mostly figuring things out as we went. I was appointed Supreme Commander of the new government, and I'd like to think I did well there - kept things running as smooth as I could, for a rather peaceful seven years.
As a councilman, though, I would serve as a voice for the everyman. The man who kicks and screams and scrapes ahead to stake his claim on a tomorrow of his own choosing. The man who can't stand to sit idly by and wait. I've fought tooth and nail to make the voice of myself and my fellow humans heard to those who would kick us down - here, I will make you all heard to the rest of the council.
I'm open to questions if you have them - either here or in-person. My comm's always open if you want to arrange an in-person meeting.
