So here's something none of you kids on the ship will thank me for.

Since there ARE kids on the ship, some of whom theoretically have school to go back to or finish, somebody ought to do something about this. Who wants to be a schoolteacher?

Not that we need to have a regular 8 hour schoolday, but even on a creepy meatship, young minds need a'moldin'.

ETA: much as it pains me deep in my soul not to force higher education on someone who's already, say, graduated high school, or otherwise gotten an adult-level education, I guess if you're not interested in taking your learning any further you're . . . okay. Uggggh. Brb, off to nurse my convictions.

"School" is a general term for a place where one person goes to learn from another.

In my country, children go to school from the time they're 5 until they've reached legal adulthood, and a general American education consists of fundamentals in mathematics, literacy, and various sciences.

Sounds like a plan. Not going ot be going to class though. Haven't been to school since I found out about the whole werewolf thing, and I learn better on my own anyways. And by that I mean I got all my most recent education from using libraries and museums as temporary homes.

I'm married, and no future-kid of mine would ever be allowed to leave the house typing like that, so I'm willing to bet I'm not.

C'mon. It'll be more fun than what you're used to. You'll have a lot fewer classmates, and your teachers will have more time to walk you through the stuff you don't understand and concentrate on the stuff you're interested in. And I can personally guarantee you nobody's going to stuff you in a locker.

Literacy would also be appropriate, I think, given that a couple of these kids aren't actually from Earth. Essay writing, or better yet, treaty writing - we might need a few of those. But literature analysis is a good intellectual exercise as well, so go right ahead.

Political studies, now that might be something good to involve in the curriculum. Depending on the sort of missions we end up getting sent on, next time we're planetside, a background in political theory might go a long way towards a successful mission.
