So here's something none of you kids on the ship will thank me for.

Since there ARE kids on the ship, some of whom theoretically have school to go back to or finish, somebody ought to do something about this. Who wants to be a schoolteacher?

Not that we need to have a regular 8 hour schoolday, but even on a creepy meatship, young minds need a'moldin'.

ETA: much as it pains me deep in my soul not to force higher education on someone who's already, say, graduated high school, or otherwise gotten an adult-level education, I guess if you're not interested in taking your learning any further you're . . . okay. Uggggh. Brb, off to nurse my convictions.

I'm not doing trig. I hate trig and no one cares about stupid triangles.

And for writing assignments where you have to talk about something from your life, I don't have to make up fake stories about farming--I can write about giant robots and aliens and stuff for once.

And NO AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE.

I've got six PhDs, and none of them are in agricultural science. There will be no agricultural science.

I'm only gonna take classes I need to or that don't look completely stupid.

AND IF THERE'S GYM CLASS I GET TO GO! And I don't have to fake being lame during it! If I can do 50 one-handed pushups in five seconds, I get to.

And I'm only doing art class if we don't have to draw and paint corn. Or vegetables. Or fruit. There is other stuff besides still life pictures of vegetables.

Yeah yeah. P.E. is a part of a balanced educational blah blah I faked asthma out of every gym class ever.

I have a PhD in musical theory. Our school band will kick every other school band ever's ass.

If I go back home and don't bite it, I'll be the Guy That Saved the World. The Guy That Saved the World will demand to learn not to farm. (Besides, Ma and Pa taught me the most I need to know anyway).
