Time to get schooled.

So here's something none of you kids on the ship will thank me for.

Since there ARE kids on the ship, some of whom theoretically have school to go back to or finish, somebody ought to do something about this. Who wants to be a schoolteacher?

Not that we need to have a regular 8 hour schoolday, but even on a creepy meatship, young minds need a'moldin'.

ETA: much as it pains me deep in my soul not to force higher education on someone who's already, say, graduated high school, or otherwise gotten an adult-level education, I guess if you're not interested in taking your learning any further you're . . . okay. Uggggh. Brb, off to nurse my convictions.

Tell me about your specialties, qualifications, stuff like that. You mentioned math. What sort of math would you WANT to teach?

Most of what I know is aimed at practical engineering, so - nothing past basic calculus, I can get into basic relativity and quantum processes all right but I've never been any good with arcano-sciences and I remember nothing from chemistry except the parts about blowing things up.

My job's as a pilot, but I think I'm the only one here who plans to goz around in mecha for a living.

Think you could cover something like basic-to-intermediate algebra, and maybe some geometry? A couple of the kids still need to be run through the basics before they can go on to start learning things like calculus, and most of them I don't think will want to go that far.

There will be a couple of kids interested enough in engineering and things like piloting to go further in math, but that's down the road for the time being.

Oh, yeah I think I could manage that all right. I can't promise how I'll do, but I've done pretty well in basic leadership spots so far.
