My name is Sherlock Holmes. I'm a consulting detective, the only one that was in existence in my world at the time of its (alleged) destruction, working most often with the Scotland Yard on the cases the police were too incompetent to solve on their own.

This post has a three-fold purpose.

1. I would like to be put in contact with whoever is responsible for criminal investigations on the ship, to possibly make arrangements for future consultations.

2. I would like to be put in contact with whoever is responsible for criminal investigations on-planet, during missions, to make similar arrangements.

3. I would like to make it known to the ship proper that I'm available for private cases. Interesting ones only please. If you're in need of assistance, contact me and we'll discuss whether or not your case has potential.

Ah - if the Jackal might interject? It was not my intent, Dr. Watson, to cause you any undue distress. While I have great respect for the Master of Deduction's abilities and prowess, I was simply pointing out that here the troubles that have befallen him back home would not be an issue.

Although, as a point of fact, I regrettably must inform you that while I am a fully licensed private investigator, I am currently not a part of any law enforcement agency, nor will I be able to be so in the future, should we regain our homes. The Jac...er, Mr. Spinelli would suffice as a means of address.

Ignore him, Mr. Spinelli. He's just upset that he ran out of ways to express his awe in reaction to my keen intellect and that he didn't think of "Master of Deduction" first. You're far more articulate with it.

Most gracious thanks! To receive a compliment like that from one such as yourself is indeed a honor. In truth, the Jackal has found that a keen grasp of languages has served him well in the past, and if the Esteemed Doctor would care to indulge in discourse on the subject for any reason, I would, of course, be most happy to assist.

Or...if there is anything else that you might need help with, no matter how small, you have but to ask.

You said you're a private investigator, yes? Are there any particular skills that you hold some expertise in that aid you during your line of work?

While the Jackal has many useful skills when it comes to solving cases, such as a gift for surveillance and information gathering, his strength lies in his cyberskills. There is no firewall he cannot vanquish, no encryption he cannot break. If there is evidence to be gathered in the cyber-realm, rest assured that it is a mere trifle for it to be retrieved and provided to you in a manner of your choosing.

I would appreciate your assistance in the future if you're willing to grant it. While I'm competent enough with technology, my skills lie elsewhere, and for some cases, I consult with others when my knowledge is lacking in a particular field of expertise.
