Offering My Services
My name is Sherlock Holmes. I'm a consulting detective, the only one that was in existence in my world at the time of its (alleged) destruction, working most often with the Scotland Yard on the cases the police were too incompetent to solve on their own.
This post has a three-fold purpose.
1. I would like to be put in contact with whoever is responsible for criminal investigations on the ship, to possibly make arrangements for future consultations.
2. I would like to be put in contact with whoever is responsible for criminal investigations on-planet, during missions, to make similar arrangements.
3. I would like to make it known to the ship proper that I'm available for private cases. Interesting ones only please. If you're in need of assistance, contact me and we'll discuss whether or not your case has potential.

My clients are rarely disappointed unless they were hoping I'd prove their innocence when they were actually culpable.

Not for reasons of altruism, though I certainly don't mind if it's one of the inevitable effects of my work, but yes. I enjoy uncovering objective truth for its own sake, and I enjoy it more than I would sowing deceit.
[It's rare that he explains the last part and he actually hasn't done it much before or at all, but there's something almost instinctual that makes him clarify on his intentions that might have to do with the world thinking he'd kidnap two children and poison them for purposes of vanity when the idea of setting up his own crime is anathema to him because of the lack of gratification in it. He's had some time to reflect on his own personal character with faking his death in front of John and the ensuing months alone.]

[It's always nice to know that people with Sherlock's apparent temperament are, if not motivated by good for goodness' sake, then at least motivated to uncover what is just to the letter of justice.]

You're welcome.

I do not say this as a threat. You speak poorly of members of your Scotland Yard, and I do not know them, or you, well enough to know if they deserve your disdain. Thus I do not know if you will extend such discourtesy to my beloved, but if you find yourself of the opinion to besmirch her practice, recall that she has allies in her defense.

They were imbeciles. I hope your female friend is as competent as you say. Working with a detective who isn't as dumb as a post for once would be bracing.
