My name is Sherlock Holmes. I'm a consulting detective, the only one that was in existence in my world at the time of its (alleged) destruction, working most often with the Scotland Yard on the cases the police were too incompetent to solve on their own.

This post has a three-fold purpose.

1. I would like to be put in contact with whoever is responsible for criminal investigations on the ship, to possibly make arrangements for future consultations.

2. I would like to be put in contact with whoever is responsible for criminal investigations on-planet, during missions, to make similar arrangements.

3. I would like to make it known to the ship proper that I'm available for private cases. Interesting ones only please. If you're in need of assistance, contact me and we'll discuss whether or not your case has potential.

[Cue his total and complete surprise that he hasn't just been accused of being a psychopath or at the very least, a bad person, for what is honestly just a different motivation for his chosen work than a sign he's out to kill people.]

I expect you will be working with my beloved, who is a detective. Her competence warrants civility, at the very least. If need be, I will ensure that she receives it.

I do not say this as a threat. You speak poorly of members of your Scotland Yard, and I do not know them, or you, well enough to know if they deserve your disdain. Thus I do not know if you will extend such discourtesy to my beloved, but if you find yourself of the opinion to besmirch her practice, recall that she has allies in her defense.

The detectives at the Scotland Yard had to call me in for a ridiculous number of cases, some of which could have been easily solved by anyone with two brain cells to rub together. Then after years of displaying my expertise and explaining my reasoning at the conclusion of every case, enough to provide concrete evidence to put a great many criminals behind bars, they accused me of kidnapping two children and nearly poisoning them to death because I was intelligent to solve the case with very little evidence and clearly that meant I was the one who had committed it.

They were imbeciles. I hope your female friend is as competent as you say. Working with a detective who isn't as dumb as a post for once would be bracing.
