Okay, so the basics?

I lied.

I am not a normal person. Trust me, I wish I was. I'd LOVED to be a normal person which is why I maintained my secret identity. Of course, if the universe is gone, that's kind of pointless. And if we do make our universes again, I guess I could just lie if someone is from my world and say I have no clue.

According to Nemesis there are universes where I am normal, so it works out well enough.

And since I already had to tell people because when we're about to be eaten by zombies? Lying about powers doesn't seem the best idea.

So, yes, I am a barmaid from Apex City. Yes, my best friend is Helen/Deja Vu from the Luminaries. And yes, I have been possessed. Just some of the facts have been smudged a bit for the people I've told this.

I am in fact part of the superhero team. I am Dream Weaver.

I can make illusions for most anything, unless it's a camera. Cameras don't pick them up for some reason. I can put people to sleep, not instantly and not a wide spread area. I can astral project. You know, the whole spirit leaving the body thing and walking around. Which is how I got possessed because my body is kind of an empty puppet then.

....and I can travel through dreams.

Yeah, but I thought you were just pulling my leg.

Their two rival companies that publish comics. You've got Batman and Superman and all those guys from DC, and the X-Men and Super-Man and whatnot from Marvel.

Hey, which one are you from?

You do realise this is seriously cool, right?

Having powers doesn't mean you're a superhero. And I didn't exactly see you wearing the costume.

Hey, what does your costume look like?

Selene, that's just nuts. Batman is from DC and Spider-Man is from Marvel, and never the two shall meet. Except possibly here. Which would be really awesome, because then I could prove to Jake that Spider-Man would beat Batman in a fight!

Wait, is this more of that crazy multiple-universes stuff?

Nice! And hey, you look good in green. Do you have a place that you like to use to change into your costume, like Superman with the telephone boxes?

In the comics I've read they aren't. Hey - if you've got both Spider-Man and Batman in your home universe, you've gotta tell me. Have they ever fought? Who won?

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2009-11-11 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
That must make things easier. And I guess you didn't know about the telephone box thing, then?

Well, sure they don't have a reason but...don't you want to know who'd win? And come on! Batman? Seriously, it's gotta be Spider-man!

Hey, don't ask me, ask the big guy.

Wait - is Superman here too? Who else is here? the X-men? Fantastic Four? Wonder Woman?

No one's ever going to be very effective in a battle if you can't learn to deal with the fear. There's always fear. I'm sure Spidey can handle it. And it'd just be a mock battle anyway! They wouldn't really be trying to kill each other.

Come on, you don't really think an "Anti-Cling to Walls" gadget could exist, do you? Seriously, I know Batman's got some weird stuff, but still.

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2009-11-12 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
The Jean Grey? As in the Phoenix?

Oh, I'm plenty familiar with fear. All kinds. But you know, I defy you to watch any of the clips from the old '60s TV and and still find Batman scary. This is a man who dresses up as a bat and goes around with "bat-rope", "bat-radars", and "bat-cuffs", you know. Formidable? Yes. Incapacitating? yes. Completely ridiculous? Hell yes.

Handy-Man?

Well, there's different versions. There's Golden Age, Silver Age, and Modern Day Batmans, plus the live action and animated TV shows, and then there's all the movies...personally, I prefer the Tim Burton movies. Joel Schumacher's just fell flat.

Nanites? Seriously? Man, that is so cool. Is he here too?

[[ooc: WIKIPEDIA. WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT YOU?]]

[personal profile] livestoannoy 2009-11-12 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Well...I'm not sure. Usually I'd just check the date, but that's a little hard with the real man. I guess you could ask him what year he's from, but how does this whole stories-leeking-into-other universes thing work, anyway? I mean, it could be that not all of the details that end up in the comics are true anyway. It'd certainly explain all the inconsistencies and contradictions.

Man, that sucks. But hey, if you're here, the rest of them must be down on the pods, right? If that ship chick was telling the truth.

Woah, 2009? That's really weird to hear. I'm from 2001. I know that everyone comes from different times and all, but that's still freaky.

If you ask that, people could just say, "course I know them, I read comics", or "Yes, I just ran into Batman down the hallway". You might want to be a little more specific.

I've never heard of those guys. Guess your stories never made it into any comics I've read, huh?

You haven't had any battles that involve oatmeal, have you?

Okay, I know I'm going to regret this but - how did you have a battle involving banana pudding?
