Formation of the Special Operations Task Force

This is Rtas ‘Vadum, current Commander of this vessel, to all crew, new and old.

For too long we have lacked an organised infantry or mechanised force. We have had Starfighter Command to control the skies for some time and yet no other organised military to take on tasks unsuited to space combatants. No organisation to take the fight to the enemy on the ground, in boarding operations or even covert operations.

No longer, it is to this end that I wish to announce the formation of the Special Operations Task Force. The Special Operations task force shall be a military force to take the fight to the enemy no matter the theatre of operations. The operations the task force may undertake are as varied as the theatres that they will fight in, wherever the fight is, whatever we must do, we shall make it so.

If you have combat experience, or skills that you believe may prove useful to such a Task Force I will be undertaking sign ups within the next few days in the Sensoriums, the specific location shall be noted at the time. We shall need those who are willing to fight, those who are willing to lead along with those skilled or show potential to be trained in specialist roles such as, scouting and infiltration, combat engineering, snipers and heavy support roles among others. Do not hesitate to put forth any particular role or ability that you feel you may be suited to.

If you have interest or skill in the operation of vehicles, whether light or armoured and do not have access to one at current we have appropriate vehicles available, training can be provided. For those who do not have their own weapons, we have a range of weapons available depending on your chosen roll within the Task force.

Do note that this will be a strictly military organisation and will be placed directly within command, conduct in the field and while on duty will be expected accordingly.

I have took in a rabble of primitive tribes and made them the most feared army of all of Kyrnn. I think I have experience in military matters.

Is that so? Your experience in military matters would be a welcome addition to the Task Force.

Good. I require that I be put up in a leadership position, as it is only natural.

That however will not be possible at this juncture. Warriors of this crew in particular do not respond well to leadership who would see them tortured or killed for the slightest misdeed on or off the battlefield. Something that you have made quite clear in recent interactions with the crew.

It is a viable method of disciplinary action for certain forces, indeed.

However, it is not one that will be of any benefit for this task force. It would only serve to weaken our forces. Against such a foe we require all the capable warriors that we are able.

Hardly.

They will merely require different methods of disciplinary action. Those who would prove detrimental to the force shall have little place in it.

I have little doubt however that one of your skill and power would be of great benefit.

If you won't let me lead, then I inquire a solitary position. I will not mingle in the company in lesser beings and call them my equals. And I prefer to everyone to get out of my way, as you are so wary of my intent and capabilities.

I've got the power to absorb and manipulate electricity, and I've fought down thugs who used guns, rocket launchers, and grenades. I've also fought down trash golems, corrupted swamp monsters, ice-manipulating mercenaries, and plenty of other guys with powers different than mine.

Interesting, your powers and experience may well be of use. We shall see in what particular role however once a proper demonstration can be given.

If you could use a former cavalry officer, I'm in. Though I haven't seen any horses here.

Still, I have tactical experience which could be of use.

I've got some vehicle-driving and combat experience - never operated in a military before, though. I'll give it a shot for the cause, though.

What manner of vehicle experience do you have? One skilled in combat would be welcome on the Task Force.

Use of a motorcycle with variable attachments that allowed it to function as a personal hovercraft and watercraft. The attachments were combat-capable with weapons of their own, but more often than not, I used my own personal weapons.

I can build or repair things, and I can punch things. I can shoot stuff as well, but I prefer the others if I have a choice.

Such skills would be useful in the field. Indeed, that can be taken into consideration, ranged weapons however can be provided.

Also got a suit of power armor on-hand for such situations as well, forgot to mention that before - been kinda busy.

Combat is my existence. I admit I am... unfamiliar with the sort of projectile weapons your current military appears to use. I prefer to rely on my sword.

However my nature is such that I am quite resilient. I have faced siege engines on foot, and they were unable to destroy me.

We can train you in the use of the weapons currently available to us, however there is much to be said about the proper use of a sword. If you are confident in your close combat ability you will not be dissuaded from it.
