This is an announcement regarding the Nightmare King and the escalation of his powers.

As many of you may be aware, the Nightmare King's power has grown to the point where he is able to effect our waking minds. You may find yourself in places that seem like home, or like a twisted version of it, anyway. It is not real. As of now, these don't seem to be very difficult to break out of, but it's a sign of things getting worse.

Please keep in the back of your mind at all times that you are on Stacy, and the visions you are experiencing are waking dreams, that's all.

We're doing everything we can. If anyone would like to learn a meditation, a mantra of sorts for strength of spirit, I would be happy to teach it.

Thank you, I would appreciate the assistance. The full meditation is probably too long to teach someone, but I can give them the part that you say before sleep, to guard your mind against the dark and prepare it for battle when you wake. I think it may help.

But I would also like to point out this message will be of little help to those still in the King's thrall. I imagine a physical interaction would be necessary.

As I said, I am doing the best I can. When I see someone in that trap I go in to pull them out of it. This is just a warning for those who might not have experienced this yet, or who might be strong enough to break out on their own but don't realize what just happened.

So you're concern is more for the newer podpopped. Understandable, though keep in mind several warnings about the Nightmare King have been repeated. Something must be doe about the crew's capacity to listen.

I have known about the extent of which the King could influence things, but my voice hasn't been heeded in this way. They are more likely to listen now that they've seen what he can do.

He's gotten much stronger since your arrival. Eventually, what he will be able to do is not only cause the crew to be unable to tell the difference between conscious and unconscious thought, but he will also be able to injure the people on this ship. His ultimate goal is to become free, and if that happens, it will be hell on the ship.

Then we'll just have to make sure that doesn't happen.

There are a very few of us with the ability to actually combat him. My primary concern right now is protecting the civilians.

I'm going to certain lengths to ensure that it doesn't happen myself. But it will take time and a combined effort for that to happen. Even I'm a little out of my league here.

They need it. Most of the warnings and concerns of those who understand how dangerous the situation is has gone unnoticed.

I understand that, and I'm not faulting anyone here. I'd guess this type of thing is difficult to predict. If people think that was your intent, despite being told otherwise... Well, there isn't a lot to be done about it.

Thankfully nobody has implied that yet. There are always going to be people who don't like the way we're handling a given situation, but that's entirely normal and I'm used to it.

A meditation? How does it work?

It's something you say to yourself to give yourself strength, and calm your emotions. It doesn't actually do anything - you do all of that yourself - but it helps put your mind in the right place.

The language of the meditation is what's encouraging - you focus on the language. It reminds you of what's important.
