Hello. Billy, Allen, I have finished cleaning up my forge and I am now able to begin work. Please let me know if you have any projects for me.

To the other people of the meatship – I am Daja Kisubo, a blacksmith. While I cannot offer any newly crafted work due to a shortage of metals, I am fully capable of repairing damaged weapons, armour, or other metalcrafted items. I also have smith magic and should be able to work with most magical items. You are all welcome to come visit my forge in the city to discuss trade.

[[ooc: Log is here if you want to talk to Daja in person, and ooc talking about how people can get work from Daja is here]]

I was unaware that a blacksmith and forger of magical goods was aboard.

Nay. 'Tis a thing of note for me, however. Mine father was just such an armor and weaponsmith, and taught me much ere I left home. Among the Paladins, my knowledge and skills in such things was expanded upon, for they forged their own mail and blades.

Nay. Thou art a blacksmith. I am a Paladin with some experience in the art of smithing.

There is a difference, as much a difference between a master painter and a nobleman who paints because he considers it "refined".

'Tis true that in my state of undeath, I have little time but for learning and teaching.

I shall accept thy offer, and gladly.

Aye. I am a death knight, a most powerful and eldritch undead, but I assure thee I intend no harm upon any here, and I do not consider this existence a blessed one.

Were that the case. My soul is bound to my bones, as it has been for well over fifty centuries.

Usually, dark magic indeed. I am unique, however: this was better than what I would have become had the orcish necromancers had their way.

I shall endeavor to explain myself, O Master Smith!

The world I come from has three primary types of magic. These are Arcane, Divine, and Primal.

Arcane is enchantment and wizardry. It is powerful but ordered, and within it are the students of it: wizards, sorcerers, warlocks and the like.

Divine energy comes from a deity, and it used by Paladins and Clerics, as I once was. It is powered by faith and devotion.

Primal magic comes from nature and the self. It is raw and unbridled, focused by passion and animal spirits. Am I understood thus far?

[identity profile] thebonedaddy.livejournal.com 2010-01-31 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I am reaching that. The magics of Arcane and Primap power are, for the most part, neutral. They are only as good or evil as the wizard or druid using them.

Divine energy is different, for there are both good and evil gods. These gods supply positive or negative energy to power their spells. Good gods supply positive and holy energy, and so healing spells come more naturally to priests of such deities. Dark gods supply dark energy, meaning spells that harm come more readily.

Necromancy is one of the many schools of magic, to which all spells belong, no matter their energy source. Even healing spells are part of the necromantic school, because of how they work. Necromancy is the magical art that affects life and death, and in many cases, undeath. Zombies, ghosts, vampires ... these are all different kinds of undead.

...If you're in need of more steel, there are several lengths of track in Grand Central Station that could be salvaged. It's not as if the trains are running there anymore.

Oh, if that's the case I can meet you at your forge and we can both go. The tracks will be very heavy, long lengths of steel, so we might need a cart of some kind to carry them in and I'm not sure where we would find that.

Sounds good. No projects yet, but I'd still like to stop by to meet you in person. I have a recently completed project I'd like to show you, talk to you about, for future reference. I'd like for you to be able to help if more of them need to be made, and I think your point of view could prove valuable.
