Yea, for the most part. Got an assignment for us though, if you're interested in keeping an eye on the remnants of Umbrella here on the ship with me.

I don't know how successful you were with Dr. Sera, but, Picard says there are two people found to have been infected when they came out of podsleep. He said Sherry had some sort of parasitic embryo that has been removed, and Steve Burnside - one of Claire's friends - is infected with the T-Veronica virus.

Apparently, the more stressed he gets, the more notable the symptoms.

I didn't get any details out of him, but I think I was more diplomatic than you were maybe. I had planned to talk to the others but you seem to have taken care of that.

I'm concerned about Sherry though, I mean I trust your sister and Leon implicitly, but I'd feel better about you and I maybe offering another pair of eyes to make sure she's ok. You're already her Uncle so you have an automatic in...just... She's a kid Chris, you'll have to tone it down a bit.

As for Steve Burnside, what do you suggest? Surveillance?

I've done all that I could to be nice to Sherry... she's still afraid of me. Claire thinks it's because of my size... so, I was thinking... what if she had an aunt?

As for Steve... surveillance and stress relief. If the symptoms are emotion triggered, a calm Steve is a safe Steve. I was thinking of maybe taking him to the sensoriums and seeing what kind of activities he enjoys.

Aunt? Well unless you have another sister stowed away somewhere that I...oh. You mean like you and me being Uncle Chris and Aunt Jill. Well shes a great kid, I'd love to be her aunt if she likes me.

I think it might be better with you approaching Steve, at least at first. But I can help keep an eye on him and get to know him.

I just spoke to Captain Picard. He said I'm a part of the Security team now. I'm to be keeping an eye on any kind of bio-weapons and the like. I know of Steve's infection, and he told me about Sherry's... care filling me in?

So I've heard.

Steve is infected with T-Veronica. He was initially infected in Antarctica by Alexia Ashford, and pulled here sometime after his death. Shortly after arriving here, he was checked over by medical where it was confirmed that he still had the virus, it was dormant in his system. Outside of a direct transfer of blood, he isn't contagious, so the Chief of Medical, Dr. Grey, cleared him to be among the crew. He's currently on a drug cocktail that keeps the virus at bay, and is checked over by Medical on a weekly basis while the Science Team tries to come up with a more permanent solution.

He's only had one major flare in symptoms, after suffering numerous injuries during the outbreak. He was isolated for a while, but has since been cleared to be around everyone else. We keep him under general supervision, but otherwise he's allowed to move freely.

Sherry, during the last days of Raccoon City, was implanted with a G-virus embryo. Her biological mother, Annette Birkin, told Claire and I where to find a vaccine. We got it to Sherry in time, and we thought we cured her. But when she was scanned here, we found out that vaccine put the thing into a state of suspended animation. It was surgically removed and destroyed, and the vaccine eliminated any chance of recurrence.

Sherry's perfectly fine.

I remember a little about the Veronica strain from what Claire told me before we got dragged into a battle with the siren herself... Don't suppose there are any kind of reports on it I could look over before working with him? I understand that the symptoms only flare when he's upset, but think about it, Leon. The kid is seventeen. His hormones are raging out of control, and the kid is probably scared to death of the virus... I was thinking of working with him in the sensoriums, get him a hobby or something to kind of help relieve his stress without it getting bottled up to the point of causing another flare up.

I want to believe you on Sherry's part, Leon, I really do. But... I've had too much time to look over Umbrella reports on all the strains except Veronica. The T and G viruses were engineered specifically to be resistant to any kind of chemical intervention... I don't like it, but I have this gut feeling that there may be trace amounts still dormant in her system, small enough to not show up on a scan...

[He sighs a bit.] Damn Umbrella... Anyway... there anything you three need? Anything I can do for you guys?

I've been fighting these viruses as long as you have, Chris.

The G-vaccine was developed by the same scientists who made the virus. That data went up in smoke along with Raccoon City, so all other vaccine attempts were reverse engineered. Sherry's fine. She's been looked at by the best, scanned every which way with equipment that's years ahead of anything we have back home, and had more than enough bloodwork done to confirm it. She isn't about to grow an eyeball out of her shoulder.

As for T-Veronica, you can get the reports on it from Luis. And he'll probably hand them over if you give him an apology first.

[Chris suppressed the urge to say 'Not quite', considering Leon was just having his first day on the job the day after the Mansion incident, if his memory served correctly.]

I hope and pray you're right, Leon... but, Jill and I both think it would be a good idea to have another pair of eyes looking out for her, just in case. It's not that we don't trust you and Claire - we do - we'd just feel better about it if we could keep a closer eye on her. And, considering Sherry seems to be intimidated by my size, and Jill has a natural nurturing air about her, I suggested that she get more acquainted with Sherry.

Sera? We'll see.

She's a twelve year old girl. She's been through more than enough. She doesn't need another set of eyes to watch her, she needs friends and family.

If you and Jill want to get to know her because she's your niece, that's fine, and I'm all for it. But no one is running any kind of surveillance on her. Period. I don't care how uncomfortable you are with it.

Leon, Sherry won't even know. And yes, it is partially because I want Jill to know her personally. But you know we only have her well-being and safety in mind. We're doing this because she's been through so much. We're trying to make sure nothing else happens.

Just think it over, okay?

Sis... [Have a soft sigh.] ...Why didn't you tell me about Sherry? I was worried enough when I saw you had adopted the daughter of a high-ranking Umbrella Exec... but why didn't you tell me she had some sort of parasite that was just recently removed?

Look... I know things happened really fast after I got here, and can see how it would've slipped your mind in the chaos... but promise me, sis... in the future, let me know these sorts of things... I'm trained for this stuff... I might be able to help. Okay?

Claire... if it's even remotely concerning any kind of bioterrorism, I need to know. The last thing I want is for this ship turning out like Raccoon City or Kijuju.
