I'm trapped against my will in the Medbay and it's so excruciatingly dull that the only thing I'm able to do right now to entertain myself is reflect on the fact that there are talking ponies on this ship that are capable of grasping objects when they're not in possession of opposable thumbs.

Someone say something that isn't tedious.

We get about by means of a device called a "Stargate." It establishes a stable wormhole between any two gates in the Network, if there's enough power.

I'm not that sort of doctor. All I know is that it's a stable portal between two points.

I don't need an in-depth explanation of how it works, but I'm unfamiliar with most cosmological terms.

My friend, Rodney, said to think of it as a tunnel. The gate seperates your molecules and sends them through the tunnel to reassemble them on the other side.
