(no subject)

Bored.

I'm trapped against my will in the Medbay and it's so excruciatingly dull that the only thing I'm able to do right now to entertain myself is reflect on the fact that there are talking ponies on this ship that are capable of grasping objects when they're not in possession of opposable thumbs.

Someone say something that isn't tedious.

I'm sure.

Tell you what: if you promise not to try and sneak out while I'm gone, I'll head down to the Media Library that they've got here and download some movies for you, including the one I was just quoting.

"Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?"

It's from Gladiator. It's a historical drama, set in Rome. Pretty popular in the early noughties.

I didn't make you watch anything, I just didn't turn off the telly. You could have changed the channel. I remember, the remote was well within your reach.

I was entertained by you shouting at it. I barely remember the movie.

I meant what I wrote, it's your decision if it was for "no reason".

Gladiator is better, though.

Spoil all my fun.

It's about a Roman general who gets sold into slavery and forced to fight as a gladiator after the emperor's son kills his father to take the throne, and kills the general's family when he can't kill the general. The general/gladiator then spends the rest of the movie competing and gaining popularity until he eventually faces the emperor's son in combat in the arena.

Believe me, there's more to it than that.

Then I'll bring you this one and a few movies that I will refuse to tell you anything about.

Promise me you won't try to sneak out while unsupervised, and I'll get you your movies.

I will still take pictures of you if you pass out on halfway into a ship orifice.

Stay put, I'll be right back.

Let it be known that the Master of Deduction and the Prince of Detectives made it all of five feet before he lost consciousness. Fortunately for us all, he didn't crack his whacking great head open on anything when he did.

No pictures, sorry, he didn't make it to any orifices.

You didn't have to try and escape the moment I turned my back either.

And it's only public if someone's reading this thread. I doubt that my blogging skills are so legendary that people are going to bother reading our bickering this far.
