Infrastructure and Portal Network
Greetings and welcome to all new crew members.
I am Celena Vantari, current head of the Infrastructure subdivision of engineering. The infrastructure subdivision primarily aids with the construction of new infrastructure as well as the maintenance and repair of current infrastructure and buildings. As such we always welcome any crew member who wishes to assist in these endeavours. You need not have previous experience in construction, only a willingness to help. We can provide tools and instruction in which ever area you might wish to help with.
There are several projects that we are currently working on, the first of which is the ongoing repair of the city level. Much progress has been made within the city and many areas are once more safe to inhabit and travel through, however there are still many unstable buildings that are yet to be repaired and demolished in the outer areas of the inhabited area of the city. Should you have any location in particular that you should wish repaired in particular please let us know.
The second primary project that is currently ongoing is the construction of shelters to be set throughout the ship. The first four shelters one at each cardinal point of the map within the city are nearing completion, their locations have been noted on the map. Additional shelters are slated for construction within Hydroponics and the Hanger. These shelters will contain suitable protection as well as supplies and armaments in the case of emergencies on board ship.
In addition I would like to inform our new crew members of the existence of two newly set up methods of transport. These two transport systems are the Teleport pads and the Portal Network. I will speak primarily on the Portal network I have little doubt Ronnae would be happy to speak of the Teleport pads.
The Portal network makes use of a series of interconnected gateway devices, one of which you may have seen set up on the Observation deck already, though in its idle state. The Portal system is simple enough to use, merely approach one of the terminals, select your destination and wait for the gate to form the connection then step through.

I am considering looking for a house to live in within the City. Are the unstable buildings marked in any way, so that I can tell in advance that they are going to be demolished?
