General Welcome/Plotting a surprise
Hey everyone,
For all our newcomers, I'm Billy, co-head of the Engineering department. If you're skilled at any type of repair, mechanical work, or computer work---or you're not and you'd like to learn---you're welcome to stop by our laboratory. It's on the second level next to the medical bay. Someone should be there to answer your questions, and I should be in soon. Everything you need to know about is is located here. No one's going to force you to join, and I know you probably need time to recover, so don't rush! I just know how it feels to be bored and restless, and working's helped me out of a few ruts.
If you're not interested in working with us but need any type of repair done---a vehicle, robotics, a weapon, a life support suit, that's all right as well. We have a work calendar in the front where you'll be slotted in. Just know that we prioritize orders from Command and war-relevant items, but any work's welcome! It's been a while since I've worked on something simple. I wouldn't mind if it I had the time.
[Locked from Ronnae:]
During the visits right before the pod release, I learned that Ronnae's birthday is around this time. I know all sense of time is thrown off by our existences on the ship, but I'd still like to do something nice for her. I'm going to have a sensorium set up for us the night after tomorrow---I know I should have warned you earlier, but I don't trust secrets to remain secret for too long around here. I'd like it to be a surprise party if at all possible.
I'll be saving a sensorium for us. Is there anyone who'd like to volunteer to get her that night, or should I take that role? I also promise to work extra shifts the day afterward to compensate for the disruption of the party.

---although there is a specific Neuropathy group. They're fairly selective and secretive, so you'd have to talk to them, but you might be able to help there.

Glad to know I'd be welcome. I'll make it a point to stop in soon.

Great! See you then.

[Locked from ... Ronnae, was it?]
What do you mean, "all sense of time is thrown off"?

Clocks don't work. No measurement of time works out here. We can never know exactly how much time has passed since we arrived here, the days and nights all blend into each other.

That sounds pretty disturbing. Do you know why?

It's our location. We're in the Bleed, the space between dimensions. Every dimension affects time differently, and here we are---never knowing which way is up or what time is forward. The most we can do is keep track of waking and sleeping, and the avia tests disrupt even that.

She likes strawberries, if that helps.

I'll have to get some music too.
