Doctor, my initial analysis of the quarantined patients' scans and interviews does not point to any one obvious organic cause for the regression. The first-pass guess is that it wassomething that happened on XaXing, or possibly on the ship immediately afterwards. We need to do more interviews before we can narrow it down.

I'm going to start reaching out to other departments to see if we can get more data.

Do they store positional data on their users, and could that data be made available to Medical for analysis? We're trying to find out if the people in Quarantine were at the same place on XaXing, or on the ship, where they might have been exposed to something.

I'm working on the memory loss issue that's been showing up in certain people on the ship, and since they are losing memories only from before they arrived on Stacy, she might be re-transmitting those memories telepathically.

Sure. Hey, not that I really want to turn back into this book I allegedly was, but, uh, if it's the same thing, it's not just 'memory' loss.

Thank you, Overlord. Unfortunately the term 'variable temporal regression' does not seem to have the same immediate recognition factor as 'memory loss.'

If you are no longer a book, it sounds like you have been affected as well. When may we expect to see you in Med Bay?

We need all the information that we can gather in order to determine what the cause of this regression is, and find out if it can be transmitted to other people. Part of that information-gathering is medical testing and interviews that can best be done in Med Bay. You may be putting other crew members at risk by not coming here.

I'm evil, appealing to 'putting people at risk' doesn't do it for me. I'm also willing to bet you don't have a single test that covers demons who were books.

I suppose it would just be too ironic if something you knew turned out to be the key to solving all this. I mean, having everyone be beholden to a demon for saving them - knowing that they were rescued from a potential terrible fate by someone 'evil' - no, that could never happen.

Actually, just the fact that you were affected is very useful information - it means that this is not something that only applies to humans or humanoids.

We are closer to ruling out an organic cause at this point, but by interviewing you we could get more specifics as to where you might have been exposed to the cause - on the ship or on XaXing. Please consider it.

And you have no interest in increasing that debt? How thoughtful of you, not to manipulate the crew's beholdenness to your own ends. It's almost humble, really.

We were not currently looking into spiritual status as being the cause of this, or the reason that people were affected. However, it is an interesting theory. Thank you for sharing it.
