Experiment Alert
[[Open to everyone]]
The last time I conducted a high-level magical experiment, I was requested to issue a general alert to those in the Jedi Temple and surrounding area. This is that alert. I will be attempting to stabilize a gate in my laboratory. This experiment should involve no explosions and if any property damage results it will be contained to my lab; however, people who are sensitive to magic, or the extremely if not unjustifiably paranoid, may wish to absent themselves until the experiment is concluded.
[[Locked to the Magic Department]]
There's a vanishingly small chance this will unleash a host of demons on us all, but I mention that only as the absolutely worst-case scenario. I can't conceive of ANY combination of factors that could produce anywhere close to that result. However, higher levels of catastrophe are possible, but as mentioned will be contained entirely to my lab. If some catastrophe does befall me my notes on this experiment have been duplicated to a book which is stored in my living quarters.
On an unrelated note, I would appreciate a word with a Device and his or her user, if applicable, as I have been developing a augmentation spell based on existing magical theory for magical weapons combined with that of people and living beings, which I would like to test if someone is willing.

Are there any further precautions you could take?

I've laid magic circles around the periphery of the intended summoning destination which will prevent any evil or chaotic creature from passing its boundaries. (I am operating under the assumption that if any good creatures show up, I've achieved a victory.) Magical barriers already exist across five of six surfaces and anything which breaches the magic circles will trigger a contingent extended wall of force, which in turn will trigger a disjunction effect targeted specifically on the gate, followed in approximately twelve seconds by a disintegrate, then a storm of fire and ice.
To be more clear, then, the chance of something unwelcome passing through the portal, breaching the circles, incapacitating me, and then escaping is substantially lower than the chance that a denizen of the hells will spontaneously breach the planar barrier in any given part of the ship and invade us that way. I mention it only because the possibility is nonzero, and because I know perfectly well that if I don't mention it, it will happen in defiance of all logic and laws of magic, and then everyone will be annoyed that I didn't mention it could happen.
The chances of contained destruction are a great deal higher, but that won't injure anyone but me. Given what could potentially result if I succeed, that's no big loss, comparatively.
