If everyone's finished fighting already, I'd like to know when classes are starting again.

Preferably soon, I can only learn so much on my own.

Classes?

When everything's working normally, Mr. Gentry and some of the other adults take the time to teach us different things.

Wow, really? Like at a school?

Yeah, but I don't know of any school that teaches some of the stuff they do. It's a little strange. But for the most part, the science classes are fun.

There are science classes? That does sound fun!

I like them the best! English, I already know (and really, it's consistent repetition of the same things, so I'd like it if we moved on to literature or something), but you can pick and choose your classes (I'm staying far away from theology) and that makes thing easier. Some of the older kids are in them, too.

What's English?

That sounds a lot more convenient than a real school... I haven't gone to school for a long time.

It's basically a study of a language. Verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, participles, particles, how to put a sentence together, proper grammar, and so on.

It's convenient, and I miss school. Which is usually in session when all the adults aren't acting like idiots and arguing over every little thing. I'd like it if you took classes with the rest of us!

Oh, I see. I've never heard that word before.

I hope it happens again soon! There are a lot of things I have to learn if I'm going to be useful around here.

What did they call it where you're from?

I do, too. Maybe we can bother Mr. Gentry about it sooner rather than later.

What are you talking about? Of course I am. But if I'm wrong, I'd like someone with the authority to at least tell me I'm wrong and show me how to fix it.

A slightly moot point, as there is no real scale of grading here except whether or not you learn something you might one day need to survive (you never know), but still.
