Well, 1) Because I'm giving everyone a chance to get to know me before we do anything. This is just someone whose job is helping people talk out their problems offering to help people do that--but giving everyone a chance to get to know them first.

2) All I'm going to be doing is mediating--helping people listen to each other. I'm not making any decisions. The crew is. I'm just going to be helping people not talk over each other. So you're not giving me any power over you, since everyone will get equal time to talk.

3) Because by now everyone should understand that I have the best interests of the crew in mind.
