I believe the Lady Brugh is merely warning against the dangers of jumping to ill-conceived conclusions. However, I shall endeavor to explain myself regarding what must surely be seen as an oddity on my part.
I am well aware of the technological marvels aboard this vessel, just as I am in turn aware of their power. There are man. People from many worlds here, though, and they in turn bear different knowledge of different technologies and magics. We do not know what kind of enemies we may yet face. Their tactics, abilities, stremgths and weaknesses are all alien to us.
If we are to have a chance of victory, we cannot rely solely upon firearms and explosives. To overspecialize is to build in weakness. T'would be slow death.
